The question is, how good was the western teams back then?

studogg 2. The ONLY player worth trading is YAO MING. He's the only guy you can get equal or greater value for and he's arguably the reason the offense has taken so much time to come together. He takes up ALOT of space in the lane said:

Duncan was entited to 4 times? The first two: he has David Robinson, and 3pt shooters, Elliott and Steve Kerr. And we all know his current teamates well.

Hakeem won two times of Champ 1994, 1995.

Otis Thorpe, Vernon Maxwell, Kenny Smith and Chris Jent have averaged 10 scores per game. Robert Horry got 9.9 per game.

To summarise, my point is that basket ball is a team- based sports. Not a single one could win a title without the other four good hands' help as well as a good coach. We always talk about our PG and third pointmaker and how stubborn JVG is. I just didnot see any chance to win a title in the past four years. So if you want to bring up something, you might need to see different angles of it.

We are lucky to have Yao beside us. Whether we could make to the final or not is not such a question of 1+1=?

Arbitrary facts are not good news. They are coincidences.

If these kind of things worked out we would have won that series. Remember, the team that wins the first two games of a best of seven series on the road wins 95% of the time.

ARE YOU FREAKIN SERIOUS? I can't take it anymore...I absolutely can't take it anymore. Here's the deal, like it or not:

When was the last time a big man put up numbers like Yao has the past 4-5 games and his team still can't pick up the win? Not Shaq, not Hakeem, not Duncan......his stat lines are hollow - he might keep us in games but he is not at this point a difference maker. The real question is, does Les want to win a Championship or does he want the recurring income from China? As a business man, I'm pretty sure he wants the recurring income so Yao isn't going anywhere. I personally think they should offer him to LA for Kobe because I think LA would JUMP on it and I think Kobe is the closest replacement (behind Lebron) to the marketing $ you give up by getting rid of Yao. I also think Kobe and TMac would be VERY interesting to watch, but it AINT GONNA HAPPEN.
3. Give Adelman a freakin' break. He's been the coach for 2 months, they've had the toughest schedule I can remember in YEARS, they have several new additions to the bench and did I mention he's been the coach for 2 F'ING MONTHS? If he's made a mistake (and I'm not conceding that he has), its that he didn't shove the offense down the players throat from the get-go and not allow them to revert to JVGs offense for 15 or so games. By the way, it's a brand new offense....this isn't Avery stepping into the perfect situation that Don Nelson handed him, this is turning a "play defense/stand around and watch TMAC offense" into a motion/cut/slash/push type offense....did I mention that he's been the coach for 2 F'ING MONTHS? It doesn't matter about Steve, MJ, etc....if TMac, Yao and RA aren't on the same page, it's all a giant waste of time. I have a hard time believing that TMac and Yao are as "frustrated" with the offense and RA as you guys seem to think they are...I'm pretty sure they've been through offense changes and they don't happen in 2 weeks worth of practice, followed by 15 games of JVG offense.
4. One last point....It doesn't matter how many posts/threads/chants/articles get written about RA or how many times you guys ask for JVG or insinuate that TMAC and YM want him back....it aint gonna happen. You seem to forget that Les Alexander is the one who made the decision to get rid of JVG and I would venture to say that even if we'd made it past the 1st round last year and made it deep into the playoffs (which would have been very possible with Dallas' early exit), JVG would have been gone. Les wants exciting b-ball. He has seen the game change. It's about athleticism and smarts, point gaurds and power forwards....not shooting guards and centers. Guess what guys, we're stuck with a shooting guard and a big man. Doesn't matter what coach you bring in....it is what it is.

To sum up:

1. No Tmac trade
2. If either of the two go, it has to be Yao
3. RA is not satan and TM/YM need to get onboard (doesn't matter what surrounds them)
4. The coaching change was Les' decision and JVG isn't coming back

I think we can get Jason Kidd, 1st rounder, and Sean Williams for Tmac and go to work. J Kidd can hold the big guards and Williams can protect Yao's back all day long.

I don't care if we win games. We can go on a fifty game win streak and lose in the playoffs and I will be screaming for both of their heads. (Not to say that I wouldn't enjoy those fifty games.

I love my Rockets and I want them to do well. I scream at the tv every game, whether it be in joy or disgust. I just think we are going nowhere with these two.

HA HA HA. You can't be serious, you must be baiting. Besides the fact that he has no coaching experience, he is too lazy to work the 15 hour days an NBA coach has to put in. I guess you don't remember Calvin's timecard scandal a few years back. An alumni hire of Calvin would fare about as well as the UH hire of Drexler went.

I'm so glad there's another intelligent poster on here besides myself. Yao simply cannot carry a team. Like you said, he puts up great numbers, but he's not a difference maker. We'll never win a championship with Yao unless our supporting cast is great. Hakeem, Shaq, and Duncan could lead scrubs deep into the playoffs, but not Yao. He just doesn't have IT. Until we get a GREAT supporting cast, we'll keep bouncing out the playoffs year after year. Les has to decide whether it's easier to move Yao and get great players that fit this system, or keep building around Yao and pray that our supporting cast will be great.

I would like to see a game where Yao is out. I think he prohibits the rest of our team from getting in a rhythm. There's no excuse that Bonzi shouldnt be getting 15 and 8 every night. Yao stunts our players' abilities like it or not.

and come up with the idea Yao stunts our players abilities....

once again...

we have the big Stiff setting up and playing 15 feet from the net...

so our other guys....Tracie Mclazy included... would have a better path to the basket....

since Yao was clogging up the lanes

somone came out with Tracie Mclazy's % of jump shots this year... and they havent changed from last year or over his career...
