wow good luck to Cooper. maybe I should put in my resume for the new position that will soon vacated after the in house promotions happen.
hes the guy that always helps yao during the summer right? and hes the guy that made rafer an average finisher around the basket... He will be missed!
Good to see him moving up the ranks to become an assistant coach. I guess there wasn't enough room for him to be part of Adelman's bench.
I may be totally off on this but.... Wasn't it Dean Cooper that did midwest college scouting and brought Landry to the attention of the Rockets? Can anyone verify one way or another?
I have always hesitated to name drop, etc. on the board; however now that its official, I must say congrats to my good pal Coop. This is a guy who has bled Rockets Red for the last 9 years, and there will be a void left behind that will be tough to fill. It is exciting to know that he will make his return to the bench as he has hoped, but it is bittersweet to know that the Rockets organization has lost one of its MOST driven, and down to earth people.
Read the whole thread yall. Congrats to Cooper on getting a coaching spot on the sidelines! Good luck!
Being that your obviously in know, is something going on that we keep losing supposedly young and talented front office personnel. DL last year and Cooper this one, it just makes me wonder what's going on and why we can't keep these guys in house?
Just a question, but it seems to me like a "VP of personnel" would be closer in line to becoming a GM than an assistant coach working through the ranks to head coach? Am I missing something here?
