so, through a friend's job, i actually got seats for two rows off the floor for game 3 of the bulls-heat. i've gone to about 15-20 games in my entire lifetime (and not just bulls games) and ive never been lower than the 300 level for an nba game. this is obviously a big deal to me.

now, i think of myself as a pretty hardcore fan, so i would like to heckle the crap out of the visiting heat. ive always thought that if i was that close to the court, i would make a good heckler. of course, i dont want to get into personal heckling because im really not an a-hole, but i sure would like to have some smartass remarks for the players. i have some thought up, but i was wondering if anyone had any good heckling lines/ experiences you could share. as ive never been this close, i dont really know the 'rules' at an nba game. its a little different then heckling high school/college players, no?

if anyone has any good heckling stories, it'd be a fun story to share.

not really hecklin, but when I lived in Dallas, I went to go watch the Rockets Vs. Mavs.

I had my 95 Rockets Jersey with Horry on, and I saw Round Mound signing autographs. I didn't have anything for him to sign except a mini mavs backboard and the mfer declined.

Back in the day when Barkley played for the Suns and was here playing against the Rockets I witnessed classic Charles. I was sitting a few rows back of the baseline. During another players free throw attempt with Barkley down on the bloacks, some guy in the front row was giving Barkley crap. Barkley says just loud enough "suck my d**k". The guy continues and Barkley says, "didn't I tell you to suck my d**k?"

That ended the guys heckling for the night.

tell gp he'll never win a ring

remind jason williams of the "we'll bomb you like pear harbor" fiasco

keeping telling shaq that kobe made him into the man that he is today

tell antoine walker he should change his name to 'role player'

yell at DA, if he gets in the game, and ask why he screwed up the rockets' season so bad

this is really the best i can do if you dont wanna get real personal, but i think as long as you dont cuss and dont say anything too crazy, you should be fine

I used to go to a lot of Washington Bullets games back in the day. That guy was a true professional fan. The crowd reaction to him entering the stadium said it all. He's the best heckler I've seen/heard.

I used to be pretty good myself. I sat baseline for all but one or two games my sophmore year of college at UT. I'd like to believe that I've altered a game or two. Good luck with yours jello77.

    That's awesome.

Back in school, a group of us went to an SWT/Nicholls St. game that went five OTs. We had been riding these two Nicholls players all game long and they were giving it right back to us, all in good fun. Well, the 5th overtime came and we had the ball, needing a TD to win. Our QB throws an INT that was returned for a TD by one of the players we had been heckling all afternoon. The last thing I remember was all of us hauling ass out of there so we didn't have to hear it from him. :)

At the first "Red Alert" game against Golden State, if you watch the very final seconds of the game, Jason Richardson just stared at our section shaking his head. It was priceless.

Didn't Barkley hire that same BULLETS dude to heckle the Rockets during the 1994 finals? I recall Barkley hiring that dude for other gigs as well.

Once, in 1989, I saw Dream block Karl Malone on a nothing-but-ball block while Karla attempted to dunk it. After the game, we went near the court only to yell, "Hey, Karl, how does leather taste?"

My aunt gives stories on the 1994 season when she went to one of the choke-city games at the Summit. People were yelling at Barkley "your back is gone!" and "You will never get a ring!". Man, were they right.

My favorite was yelling at Karl Malone to go drive a truck.

I've always enjoyed yelling at people, though.

I never got into heckling but I've done it a few times

One was at the dome directed towards Bonds way before steroid talked even started. My bud and I heckled him like the whole game ( we were probaly 11). He didn't acknowledge right until the final out in the 9th. After that out he turned around he winked at us and gave us a wave and laughed. I was pretty thrilled since we were like 11 years old.

The other was nobody other than Karla Malone and John Stockton a few years back. I was very close to the Utah Bench. I just kept screaming look at the rafters and started an overated chant from a small group of people.

The best hecklers are the guys that are highly intoxicated dont forget that.

I got heckled at game 5 of the NLDS in 2004.

I was being a jerk the whole game, and some real hardcore Braves fans were getting antsy.

Some gentlemen in his 40's behind us cussed me out.

    I think the exchange went:

Gentlemen: "SHUT THE **** UP" in a southern twang.
Me: "You shut the **** up."
Lady behind me: "Clever come back."
    Me: "Clever original statement."

Then around the 9th inning, another gentlemen sitting to our left indicted our entire group. He said something about "stick around after the game, I'll buy you guys a Zima." and "Doesn't Georgia Tech have a curfew?" (I go to Emory, but I didn't feel like responding. This guy looked like he might have had a shotgun in his truck.) I will give it to him: the Zima comment made me laugh. Well played sir, well played.

Will someone elaborate on the Bullets shirt wearing dude above? He is some kind of legendary heckler that players actually hired to rattle their opponents? I never heard of that guy.

The guys name is Robin Ficker. He's an attorney near DC and had season tickets behind the opponents bench. He is very famous for taunting NBA players. And yes Barkley brought him to Phoenix for the finals in '93. He heckled Jordan about gambling. He also heckled Phil Jackson by reading out of his (Jackson's) book. Jackson got real pissed about it for some reason.
