Not sure if it's just me, but noise cancelling headphones hurt my ears. I don't know if it's the frequency or whatever they use to drown out the noise, but I've tried several pairs and they all cause me pain. Even the Bose which seem to be fairly popular. Anyone else experience this?
Triplefi's are fine for working out. if you're talking about them getting trashed then i can kinda see your point but since the cable is replaceable, i don't see why that would be an issue.
Listen to this man. He knows what he's talking about! I used to have the Ultimate TripleFi 10 headphones ($350+), but I got them for $125 off of an amazing Amazon Gold Box deal. They were great headphones, but they didn't have the kick I wanted out of the music. For headphones that actually cost $350 normally, I figured they would be more than what I was expecting, and I guess for music enthusiasts, they probably were. As for my personal taste, there was something missing. Unfortunately, my car was broken into and my headphones were in there and were stolen. Now, I didn't want to spend $350 on replacing the headphones; especially since I wasn't really blown away by them. Cue the Klipsch S4's... I actually have the S4i's, which are the same thing as the S4's except with a mic and iPhone controls. These headphones were actually the first in ear headphones that I felt were so comfortable, you forget you are wearing them immediately. They were even more comfortable than the Ultimate's I used to have. Now the sound... It was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Extremely Crisp and clear highs, lows, and mids and most importantly, they had that kick that was missing from any of my other headphones. Considering you want to listen to techno, you want this as well. I did a lot of research before I bought these, and every review had nothing but positive things to say, and most compared these to the really higher end headphones, but for a price someone didn't have to feel too guilty about spending. I can't recommend them enough as they really are the last headphones you will buy. If you do get them, I'd suggest flipping them 180 degrees upwards and inserting them into your ear that way. The regular way made the buds fall out of my ear, and I read a tip on a review that suggested the 180 degrees insert. After this, they fit absolutely perfectly and you forget you are wearing them 5 seconds later. Also, a great fit is a necessity for in ear headphones to deliver the proper sound. If not, you really aren't hearing the music you are supposed to and everything would sound dim. Anyways, do yourself a favor and get the Kipsch S4 or S4i's. You will be impressed.
i agree that the Klipsch S4 is arguably the best in it's price range. but you need to go and listen for yourself. ears are all different and it really does depend on the fit and what sounds good to YOU.
I got these today. I had the previous model, but gave it away, not because it was bad, it was just the situation. Many of my friends have the Dr. Dre studio headphones, and they are more "hip", I guess, and probably good for rap/hip-hop music with a lot of bass, but I mainly use headphones when I am on planes or trains. I tried both for quite a while in the 5th Avenue Apple Store, and while I liked the bass on the Dr. Dre headphones, they clearly did not cancel out much of the noise around me in the store. The Bose were just amazing...I put them on, and when you turn on the noise canceling, even without music on, you almost have complete silence...even when there are tons of people around you talking. Plus, they were less than half as expensive here as in Europe, so I could not resist.
Good comparison of Bose vs. Dr. Dre here: http://tech.spotcoolstuff.com/noise...iet-comfort-15-3-sennheiser-dr-dre-comparison
I was just going to bring this thread up. I just received my Sennheiser MM 100's (bluetooth wireless). Sound quality is excellent as always. Wasn't expecting much noise cancellation, but it's worse than I thought. Surprised to find that it has an in-built mic so I can answer phone calls with this if I pair it with my phone. Which is great because I always intended to use this with my Droid as I have all my music on there. Overall I think it's a great compromise for people who hate wires and enjoy fairly high quality audio. I haven't tried them while working out, will update when I do as they're advertised as being appropriate for sports. Also ordered the jaybird wireless ones as a gift, will provide a comparison once I get the scoop on that.
That is because they spend so much money on advertising. For what other speakers/headphones have you heard or seen so many commercials?
I've had the same pair of $10 ear buds for 3 or 4 years now. How is it possible to go through stuff so quickly?
well to be honest, ive never tried it, but i do read the headphone forums abit. seems like bose headphones are overated/hyped and overpriced. they have a strong brand name, and ppl just assume theyre one of the better ones when coupled with the ridiculous price (in most countries). i myself use shure for serious music listening, koss for workout and a cheap sennheiser with a long ass cable when im in my room
Bose are only good if you fly a lot and don't like in ear headphones. The in ears are better in every except comfort.
I've got wire problems myself and one good ear bud with one which the wire has to be positioned just right to get sound. I was looking at the Klipsch earbuds as well. The other pair I was looking at are the Monster Turbine High Performance. I'm leaning to the Monster at this point. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001LNO722/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
