Looking into buying some speakers for my laptop and was curious to know what some good speakers would be. I was at best buy and heard some bose speakers that sounded really good to me for about 90 bucks. what kind of speakers do you have?

    Don't buy Bose.

    Seriously don't.

I ended up getting speakers and an amp. Sound better than any 2.0 computer system I have heard. Cheaper also.

I've got Yamahas computer speakers and sub hooked to my desktop and my laptop run through a vintage Rotel receiver hooked to modern fluance speakers. Neeless to say, the Rotel/Fluance setup sounds way better. And the Rotel/Fluance set up cost barely more than the Yamaha computer speakers. I love craigslist.

What type of laptop do you have? does it have a 5.1 sound card? Where are you going to be using these speakers? Around the house or is it going to be primarily in one part of the house? Do your speakers need to be portable to take with you?

Those Klipsh are nice but @ 160 bucks it's quite expensive for a 2.1. If you do have a 5.1 for another 40 bucks you could have the Z-5500 from logitech. Great for computer speakers and for using with your Xbox or PS3 if you have one since it has an optical input.

If something portable then these look pretty nice. Dunno the quality on them but they got good ratings.

    Steven Jobs isn't bad.

I've seen Paul Otellini, and he gives a good talk.

There used to be this "fuzzy logic" researcher named Bart Kosco (sp?), and he gave *amazing* talks.

I have a dumb question: Do you have to install a driver or will your desktop/laptop recognize them immediately.

The reason I ask is that I deleted my audio by accident on my desktop and I have no sound. I tried to install another driver and nothing...
