Woo hoo!!! I'm leaving tomorrow morning for D-World on an early flight with my wife and son, my parents and my sister's family!!!! Can't freaking wait!!! My son's first trip to D-World, and he's so excited! Someone posted it before, but there is nothing as cool as the anticipation of a vacation!!! Hard to get work done, but I've got SOOOOO much to do before I leave. What the heck am I doing posting here in limited time!!??
Uh, sure Max...it's your son who's excited. (I don't think I've ever seen that many exclamation points in one post.) Seriously, I hope you and the family have a fantastic time!
thanks all!! you're right Mrs. JB -- I am pumped...he and i have been talking about it every night for three weeks now...planning out what rides we'll ride...introducing him to different disney characters so he'll know them when he sees them... freak -- my family bought into the timeshare program through Disney called the Disney Vacation Club...great deal if you go frequently...my brother takes his kids and wife at least twice a year. my parents go either alone or with grandkids at least once a year. i got engaged in the castle! we ate at the nice restaurant inside there...and when they brought out the dessert tray it had a glass slipper in it...in the slipper was the engagement ring...i grabbed the slipper, got down on a knee and proposed...so my wife and i have "history" there too! "the happiest place on earth!" Rockets2k -- you're right...he's working at the contemporary...when i stop by there i will definitely see if i can meet him...
I, too, got engaged at Disney. I proposed on one of the beaches at the Boardwalk. I grew up in Orlando so I love going back every year or so. os
Max Disney is so cool. I usually go once a year but skipped last year and really missed it. Be sure to give Universal Studios and Islands Of Adventure a look too while your are nearby. They Rock. The Spiderman ride at Universal IOA is the best theme park attraction I have ever seen. Have Fun!!
If you go to Universal Studios be sure and stop at NBA City. You might still be able to find soe Yao Ming jerseys there.
I took my 4-year old last December. Never thought I'd go to DisneyWorld and spend so much time in lines waiting to get character autographs and not be able to jump on the really cool rides. The things you do for your kids! Even with all that, it was fun and we plan on going back in a few years. By the way, has anyone done the Disney Cruise and if so, is it worth it?
my brother took his family on the disney cruise and said they had a blast...there were tons of activities the kids had fun with, which left lots of time for he and his wife to relax. he said it was well worth the expense.
We did the cruise in August and had the best time of our lives. So much to do and see. We felt very comfortable allowing our kids to wander the ship without us while my wife and I did our own thing. The shows were great, the service was perfect, and the island (Castaway Cay) was the best beach experience I have ever seen. I highly recommend it. Here is a great site to read concerning disney cruises: www.disneycruiser.com
Yeah man, if you guys have the extra $, go to Islands of Adventure/Universal Studio! That place is AWESOME, and even if you don't have money still go by there, you can get into the little "Street Walk" place for free, make sure to check out the NBA City restaraunt, that place RULES!
I am so envious of you Max....grrrrrrr... BTW...that whole glass slipper story really helped my weight loss plan. I barfed up breakfast and I'm not even hungry for lunch. Thanks man!!!
you're killing me!!! someone has to add a touch of romance to the boards occasionally! probably shouldn't be me...but someone should!
MadMax - I'll echo the sentiments of everyone else...if you get the chance, go to Universal's Islands of Adventure. It's the ONLY game in town as far as thrill rides are concerned, and it's one heck of a good park. If you get the chance, go on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night. Why? Halloween Horror Nights is going on there, and from 7p-midnight (F) or 7p-2a (Sa/Su), you can experience the entire theme park plus the thrill of the Halloween Horror Nights exhibits. Not really recommeded for the little ones, though. In any case - enjoy the trip!
