I wore my Astros gear to Wrigley when I went in summer of 2001. The Stros and the Cubs were neck and neck at the time. I got a little good natured ribbing, but it wasn't anything like being a visiting fan at an LA Raider Game in the LA Coliseum in the early 90s.
I also did not receive any ribbing while watching my Astros take two games from the Cubs last May. Have fun, I'm jealous. Most of the places I like are out in the suburbs, so I doubt you could make it out there. However, I think there may be a Bob Chinn's Crab House downtown now. If so, you should grab some crawfish ravioli there.
That's only because you haven't spent enough time in the city, man. You are right, Bob Chinn's is downtown, but I can't say I'm a huge fan of the place. My favorite seafood places in the city are Shaw's Crab House and Redfish. Redfish is the only decent cajun seafood place around here, but you get enough of the good stuff in Houston that you don't need to have that here. There are a lot of good (but trendy) restaurants just West of downtown (800 block of W Randolph). Some of the restaurants in that area: Red Light is really good (Asian Fusion). Vivo (Italian). If you like sushi, Sushi Wabi is also a good place in that little corridor. Go to Greek Town, too. I've lived in Chicago for years and have only done the "touristy" things when I have out of town guests. The Museum campus really is nice. Shedd Aquarium was a huge let down for me, but Science & Industry was pretty cool, as is the Art Institute. Drinks in the signature room (top of the Hancock bldg) is nice, but it's more of a romantic type of thing. There is a separate lookout at the top of the Hancock, though which is pretty cool. I actually like that one better than the one on top of the Sears Tower. If the weather is nice (and the weathermen here don't have a freaking clue about the forecasts), just enjoy the outdoors. The MagMile is a great place to walk around and people watch, as is Navy Pier. North Avenue beach is nice to go run and women watch (but beware, its still pretty cool here, so you may see a lot of pastiness). Whatever you do, enjoy yourself. It's FINALLY starting to get a little bit warmer, so people are getting much happier around this time of year.
EAT around wrigley? hmmm....i DRINK around wrigley a lot, but aside from the late night burrito, I can't remember ever eating there. There's a micro-brew place called Goose Island. I've gone to the one near Wrigley a few times for drinks. There's another one closer to my apartment and I've eaten at that one a few times and it's pretty decent. I wish I could help more, but I really don't go to Wrigleyville to do much but watch the games and pre- post-drink. There's a Tapas bar not too far away from Wrigley as well. Just can't remember the name of it. Yeah, I know, that helps!
The tourist attractions are good in Chicago: Field museum hancock tower art institute fresh popcorn and pizza A lot of good shopping. Lots of cool street sculpture floating around. Aquarium has the belluga whales. The Fountain Everything is close as well. You could walk most of it if you are daring.
My wife's friend attends the college there. She has an easy easy class schedule. She interns on the side at some gallery or something of the sort. Recently, the idiot somehow got pizza sauce on some archived documents. Why she she eating a messy sauce anywhere near old documents is beyond me, but now you know what kind of people are handling our nation's archives
