Now that the Rockets are NOT going to the playoffs, I frankly don't understand all you folks who are clamoring for more wins. I would like nothing more than to see the Rockets get more ping pong balls.

Call me crazy, but I want to see the Rockets win a championship one day.

Let me ask you two questions...

Are the odds better than 50/50 the Rockets win at Washington and New Jersey?

Are the odds better than 50/50 the Wolves lose at Sacramento and Portland?

The answer to both is a resounding yes. And if that happens, the Rockets will be just 1.5 games out of the playoffs, a deficit that is very easily able to be made up.

The Cat is right. The Rockets still have a slight chance. As long as they are not mathematically eliminated, stop talking Tank.
1.5 games? Is that all? Wow. Thanks Cat, you just brought my optimism back to life.
If Hakeem keeps playing this well, and the guards get it together, maybe they will go 10-0.

If that happense Cat, we will be essentially 2.5 back , we can not just tie them because we lose all tie breakers...so we are SOOOO out of it, that it is not even funny.

Sorry dudes, but this year's draft is one of the deepest in memory, and I would rather see Troy Murphy, J. Johnson, K. Johnson, or Diop in a Rocket's jersey than watch the Rockets lose to San Antonio in the first round.

Heck, we may even get lucky and move into the lottery (highly unlikely, I know). On around my 10th try on the computerized lottery picker, the Rockets landed in the 3rd spot. How would Eddie Curry, Battier, or "The Great Wall of China" look in Rocket's blue?

Go Sonics, Go Denver, and Go Phoenix!!

I'm skeptical too, but the Wolves schedule is murderous.

The only "easy" game they have is against the Grizz.

I choose to think of it another way. While we lose the tiebreaker, we have them the last game of the season, and if we win that thats one game. We have to win that game... and I think we will. So it's all about making up 1.5 games before that game, and if you look at the Wolves schedule, it is extremely possible. We are SOOOOO right in the middle of this guys...

    Sorry Cat,

I admire your optimism, and I hope I am wrong, but I'm not.

I don't suppose it would help if I said that Minnesota was down 82-63 to Sacramento after three would it?

    Have your dollar ready... [IMG]

Trust me man, you are off on this one. We are very much alive. With Minnesota's schedule, it is extremely possible to make up the deficit by April 17. We have to take care of business at home, but I'm confident we will unless every other team has a player as hot as Kidd who can make everything they throw up.

Not in this thread. Dadakota would most likely predict us out of the playoffs if we held a 5 game lead over the TWolves still considering their schedule. [IMG]

The Sonics are more in it than the Rockets, I'm afraid. Tonight, the Rockets have dropped to 10th in the west. Hopefully these next two "easy" games will get the Rockets back in front.

They haven't dropped to 10th in my mind. The loss column is the only one that really matters, and the Rockets are one up on the Sonics. The Rockets will win their next 2, putting themselves one game up on Seattle, and hopefully VERY close to the Wolves.

That is so damn right - they will win some, but they will lose plenty too - I even think they will battle hard in Cliptown.

And of their murderous homegames and the Clipper game I have them winning 4 of 5 - and the Clippersgame is not one of them [IMG]

But we will need help from either Jazz, Blazers, Lakers or Suns and then we are good for liftoff. (I'm now talking Wolves homegames) Wolves are streaky - and this murderous schedule spells losing streak.

I hear you Cat. By Sunday night we can only be 1.5 games back! Then its Dal(W), Sea(W), and Atl(W) at home. Utah(L) on the road and Den(W-because Dick Van Exel is Cuttino's boy [IMG] ). Por(L) on the road, Van(W) on the road. And then the Puppies [IMG] at home(W). Our record would be 47-35

The Puppies would still have Por(L), Pho(W) and Lakers(L) at home. Van(W), Lak(L), Clip(W) on the road. Utah(L) at home. And then Mavs(W) and Rockets(L) on the road. There record will be 46-36! Damn I hope I am right. If I am not I will send $1 to that pessimistic Dakota [IMG]

Do you think that the Nuggets will actually let us win? If so, that would kick @$$.

Please educate yourself before you post. We are still ahead of them in the loss column, what matters. And more importantly, check out the Sonics schedule: at Spurs, at Rockets, Bucks, Warriors, at Suns, Dallas, Spurs. No way in hell they'll make up their deficit in the loss column with that schedule...

I know cat, but it still bothers me to see them in front of the Rockets. The Rockets have had as much as a four game lead in front of them, and now they are behind. Likely the Rockets will pass them, but it still pains me to see them behind this late in the season.
