Great game...that 2-3 zone is more effective than I thought against a running team like Kansas. Jim Boeheim's wife is super hot for an old lady. I like how cbs kept on showing her after almost every play towards the end. No love for Roy Williams' family?
It was effective because Syr knew they had to haul ass back, and "sacrificed" their offensive rebounding. Getting an offensive rebound here and there, isn't worth letting KU run circles around you. If Syr could have rebounded on defense at all, this game would not have been close.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOrange!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Am i hearing stuff or did i just hear say **** on national tv...anyways go cuse!! had yall from the start
Did you guys watch the Williams interview? He was asked about the UNC job and he was all like "Bonnie, I could give a flick about what those people who want to know think, blah, blah, blah. I know you have to ask that question as a journalist, but as a human being that is insensitive. Then Bonnie asks if he was offered the job, would he take it. "Bonnie, I know the person in your ear is telling you to ask me that, but in times of trouble, it's insensitive to ask questions like that and I could give a **** about what those people think. Too bad Greg Gumbal wasn't fazed, he just said some stuff and then ended the broadcast. I was hoping for a littl e shock from him and the other dudes like Tome Izzo.
Couldnt work better for me. Just started a paper today for english about the ethics of journalist. thank you roy. you got me another paragraph. go cuse
Jim Boeheim's wife isn't that old. There was a big deal about when he married her because I think he was married before, I maybe wrong, and he traded his old wife in for the new and improved Mrs. Boeheim.
I know...she didn't look that old. I guess I just assumed Boeheim is old because how could a guy like him get with some hot younger woman? Anyways...whatever he did to get her...it's all good and I'm not hating on him.
Sports illustrated did a whole layout on Boeheim right after he was married. The funny part is that he looks like a such a dork, but I think one of the photos had him and his hot wife laying poolside at their mansion and he had Raybans on or something. It just looked a little strange considering he was a dork. They had him looking joe Camel cool. Anyway, he traded up. If you ask me it came down to money. But it's only conjecture. He is a nice guy. But he scored with the money if you ask me.
Agree, that is terrible timing and in poor taste. When did journalists become assholes. That question could be asked in a few days with no harm.
Not to go completely off topic, but I cannot stand Jim Gray. He has really lost himself in that role as hard nosed journalist, but the Rose situation made him look like an idiot. This dislike was only solidified before the Oklahoma Texas football game this past year. He was on Sports Reporters II, and they talked about what kind of game did they think Simms would have. He starts off by saying, I've known Chris since he was a little kid but I'm not biased, and I think he will have a great game. He also said that Simms was treated unfairly and will be a great pro quarterback. I was like, "What, do you really believe you aren't biased"? Jim Gray's an idiot.
Great call on the outcome Kidrock. But the real story for the Cuse winning was not the 2-3 zone. They beat Texas and Kansas because of lights out offense--95 on Texas and 81 on KU is sick offense over two games, or 3 halves more aptly (see below)--and missed FTs by both teams. 44% shooting and putting up 78 points on the board isn't bad by KU for a championship game. Texas getting 84 normally should have gotten it done to. But the 53 spot on like 60%+ shooting and like 80%+ 3% shooting by Cuse in the first half was reminisk (sp?) of Villanova versus Georgetown. The offensive display Anthony and Cuse did for two halves against Texas plus the 1st half versus Kansas--both very quality defensive teams--was phenomenal, and was the difference. It makes me a little sick to think how close both Texas and Arizona were to the NC--it is all about match-ups and timing and they caught their opponents on their best days when they didn't have their best. That is why you play the game.
Even more amazing was that Boheim's strategy was to score a lot of points. I was shocked when they actually did it. Simply shocked. I was even more shocked that they let kansas have the three, but Kansas was afraid to take it, and then when they did they missed. It wasn't conventional strategy at all. But it worked on both sides of the ball. Almost brilliant. They almost ran out of gas, but held on.
Only Hinrich is a good 3 pt shooter for KU. Anytime you can get Aaron Miles or Langford to shoot a 3, you are in good shape. If Syr was able to rebound at all, they would have won by 15-20 pts.
If Syr could have grabbed any defensive rebounds, they win easily. The 2-3 made KU play a different game, than they are accustomed to. KU wasn't able to just let Collison go inside, and set up shop from 5 ft away. Most of Collison's points came off of dish and drives. Collison wasn't able to post-up at all against the zone. Moreover, KU couldn't shoot from outside at all, which has been the case all season long. Again, had Syr rebounded the ball at all, KU doesn't score 60 points, which would be pretty damn good.
Hakim Warrick was AWOL in the championship game. Got routinely a$$raped on the glass. Collison and Graves alone combined for 19 offensive boards, while Warrick registered 2 rebounds in 31 mins.
