They're awesome and "St. Elsewhere" is one of the best CDs I've purchased in a long while. My favorites are "Crazy," "Smiling Faces," "The Last Time, and "Who Cares." I hope they continue this project...It is truly unique.
I saw Gnarls live a few weeks ago in NYC. They had a super short set, but it was entertaining. I'm happy to see Danger Mouse's success.
I can't believe that they covered the Violent Femmes. It's actually not too bad. I like the rest of the album ok. Nothing blew me away, but it's fun to listen to.
Cee Low Green had a classic voice and Dangermouse, to quote Anna Nicole Smith, is a "freeeeakin' geeeeeniousssssss!" I love this album. Great video for "Crazy," too.
I want to like them for some reason (probably ACL) -- however i'm having problems accepting them as legit. What the hell is that video with the Star Wars guys? I kept feeling like Weird Al Yankovik was going to come bursting out on the stage at any moment.
They're just cool like that... that's all. But it was a MOVIES award show, The MTV Movie Awards Show... so they stepped it up and performed in costume, maybe of their favorite movie? Or maybe it was a decision made by MTV or some "execs" - either way... I dug it!
I've only heard that one song, Crazy, but not sure what the lovefest is about. The songs got a kinda cool 70's type funk to it, but nothing too special.
