    Hello all,

I went out one night, came back and found this. I don't know who did it, but apparently they decided bash all the side mirrors of all the cars parallel parked on the street that night.

I was told it would cost me around 150-200ish to have it replaced and everything. However, I am paying this out of my own pocket, and I'm currently low on funds. Also need to get my state inspection done soon. I was wondering if I could just glue the thing back together and what kind of glue I should use.

    Thanks for the help!

is the black panel still attached to the car a piece of the side mirror assembly? if so, just use jb weld to put it back together. if it is not a piece of the mirror you could still use jb weld to glue it but it might cost you more in the long run when you go replace the assembly because that part will be unusable due to being glued to the mirror.

I would go to NAPA and get a plastic specific resin over JB Weld.

Same thing happened to my mirror, and I can tell you that glue won't hold it for long. A few weeks, at the most. You can use it as a temp fix so you can get your inspection done (hell, I passed inspection with the thing taped on) and gather up the funds necessary to get it fixed.

    Use this:

We use it to attach data plates on industrial machinery we manufacture(On stainless steel!) Clean the area with alcohol or acetone(nail polish remover)then simply press down.

I glued the mirror back on to my Altima after yanking it off on the side of my garage door (no, I wasn't high  ). It was busted off way worse than that, I had to cut through a bent screw with a hacksaw just so I I could move the thing back into position. I tried a bunch of different kinds of glues to get it back on there. What finally worked pretty well was a superglue with gel consistency called "Amazing GOOP" that came in a metal tube. I duck taped the mirror in place after applying the glue and left it like that for a couple of days to let the glue harden. It stayed on for months after that, even looked pretty good considering it had been ripped off. The mirror came off again when I went through one of those drive-through car washes (again, not high. Just dumb). I glued it back on again and it stayed that way for another couple of months until a doctor totaled my car for me on the way home from work. I think the mirror actually stayed on then, too!
