What is the deal with Glen Rice? He has been a non-factor almost all season. I have tried to be patient, but Shandon Anderson shoots about as good as Glen is doing now. Last night, especially, he could have really stepped up...as most players do against former teams. 7 pts, 0-3 from 3pt range in 29 minutes isn't going to cut it. I mean, he is letting Walt Williams out-play him...at least Walt did something when he hit that big 3 last night to take the lead down to 2. If he doesn't improve this by the next couple of weeks, he should be labeled the poor man's Walt Williams. If this poor shooting doesn't improve soon, I think he needs to be benched, probably for Walt. Any thoughts?
I think we've played two weeks of the season, and it takes time for players to get accustomed to a new offense and system. Especially when they missed the entire preseason. Walt has been much, much worse than Rice for almost all of the season, with the exception of last night... one game shouldn't make him a starter. By the way, remember how much Laker fans dislike Glen Rice? Here's some things they had to say after watching him last night: He looks to pass and set up his team mates. When did he learn to dribble. Taking Fox off the dribble scoring and getting fouled. Laying it up over shaq. Where and when did he learn to do that. www.lakersground.net

Glen has pretty much always had a decent driving to the basket game. I think when he was with the Lakers he just didn't like the situation, since he didn't get as many touches, so he shot it every time he got the ball. He has hardly made any progress since the start of the season, something players usually do in the preseason when getting into shape. Everyone would benefit if he could play like he should, because then opponents would have to respect his game and wouldn't trap Francis and Mobley as often, when they know Glen is open for a three.
