"The Lakers seemed to try, and appeared to care, so this was not like the two postseason collapses at Houston." For Lakers, there's no time to rest for the weary Bill Plaschke http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-plaschke-lakers26-2009may26,0,2142243,full.column
That's ok...B/C when we come back next year with a healthy Yao, healty and motivated Mcgrady, and Artest the rox will curbstomp the Fakers......
It's kind of funny how the Rockets get less credit because they happened to blow open the game early. If the game stayed close throughout and they beat them that way, I wonder what the media story would have been.
ummm the lakers were trying just as hard against us that's why in a way I wouldn't mind if the Lakers went all the way. We could safely say we could have beat the champs if we had our full team.
The Fakers were scared ... we were in their heads most of the series. So now they need to shut up and keep their head in the current series before the Nuggets go 3-2 on them!
Yeah, we've heard it all before. What else can a hometown sports columnist say about an injury-free team that was taken to the wire by an undermanned, out-talented, and outsized Rockets squad? When there is no logical excuse, it always comes down to effort, or the lack thereof.
Your comparing apples and oranges. If you watched closely, the series' are different. The Lakers did not come out to the perimeter allowing the Rockets wide open perimeter looks in their big wins. That contrasts sharply with the fact the Nuggz are getting theirs in transition and driving right past the Lakers because (compared to Houston) they have superior drivers and finishers. That doesn't even touch upon the fact that all games have been close suggesting the talent is close. IOW, Denver gets more media respect because LA can't blow them out even when LA turns up the intensity.
No way...I will never root for the Rapers. I hate the Celtics too, but I root for them when they play the Lakers. Any day the Lakers lose...is a good day!
