This is the official I support skip thread. I attend several Rocket games and Rafer really directs the offense. He is sometimes barking at teamates to get in the correct position. Nobody else directs the team like him Head, Lucas, greek T-mac. You guys knock Rafer after every game and never give him kudos when he does well. We would have lost to Miami if it wasn't for Skip, would I like Steve Nash at point yes but so would every other GM in the league. We have Yao best center in the league at one position, T-Mac the best or 2nd best two guard in the league. We have a lottery pick, Duke, Olympian at small forward. So we cannot have the best point guard and best power forward as well(law of averages). So when every Rafer has a good game you can come this thread and give him props.

i agree, for some reason when i attend games, he plays much better, or he seems to play better than when i watch them on tv. i was at the miami game and i told my buddy that i cant stand rafer, then rafer goes off for like 20 points or something and hits 6 three pointers lol. im convinced that the game we lost against the Hornets would have turned out differently if Rafer would not have gotten ejected. GO RAFER! THE DARK HORSE!

You get to admit Alston did a decent job at defense this year. In the 4 games w Mavs, 3 times he had Jet under check.

rafer played great last night and is light years ahead of lucas or head at the point...but that's like comparing something against a pile of crap. not very stiff competition. i can't imagine how great this team would be if head had a modicum of court vision and the ability to throw passes that don't require a windup and either land at his teammate's feet or in his opponent's hands.

what do you mean we don't give rafer his props...didn't we have a rafer appreciation thread after he had that 1 good game? granted, it died pretty quickly after the next couple of games...

my guess is that this thread will do the same. it's almost like all those fire gundy or trade bob loblaw threads after a loss...they're just knee-jerk reactions, and they die once we start winning again or rafer starts playing like himself again.

NOBODY HERE WANTS STEVE NASH, BECUASE WE KNOW WE CANT GET HIM!

i havent seen anyone on here saying "lets trade for nash" he makes 6 million. misses OPEN shots. misses tear drops. he doesnt turn the ball over. why doesnt he? he doesnt drive. he drive and dish. doesnt ever make the defense converge on him. all you have to do is beat your man ONCE. and the defense will converge when you get into the lane. You must not watch other PG's in this league. Rafer is as good as Tyronn Lue. A solid backup PG. He get's us into our offense? what exactly does he do? brings the ball up court...gives the ball to mac at the 3point line or gives the ball to battier or yao in the post...

What exactly does he do?? He gets the ball where it needs to be...i'm sorry, but if I've got Tmac on the court I want him to have the ball, and if I have Yao on the court I want him to have the ball, who the hell wants there PG penetrating and dominating the ball when we have two of the top 10 talents in the league, he gives the ball up to the right people in the right spots, all you can ask for from a point. I'll take Alston starting on this team over the "penetrating, defense collapsing" Stevie Franchise anyday of the week. Not to diss Steve b'c he's good at what he's good at, getting into the lane...but Skip is what we need at the point...was anybody on the Lakers team complaining that Ron Harper and D-Fish didn't drive to the hole...NOOO, they knew that they were doing the right thing dumping it to kobe and shaq and spotting up all day long.

Rafer will only have 1 good out of 20 games play so I wouldn't give hime any props that fast. One of the think I like least about him is when there is less then 3 secs left or some time even more and he has the ball, he just held it instead of jacking it up like Bonzi did last game, you never know if you just throw it up there. I think this guy is worry about his stat, it's not like throwing it up there is gonna make his stat any worse. I still think we're one good PG away from the champ when Yao comes back ;)

i thought the same thing yesterday. after everyone and their dog was ready to string rafer up after the dallas game it was nice to see him step it up and have a big game.

putting wade on a mix tape highlight was just awesome.

Whenever rafer shoots atleast 50% the rockets are most likely going to win that game. I think he is a great player and we will need him to make a run for the Championship.
