I've been meaning to ask this question. Am I the only one that thinks the toilet seat down thing is just females being lazy?
Seriously is it that difficult to reach out and pull the toilet seat down before you sit down and take a piss or deuce?
They act like we're being lazy by not pulling the seat down after we're done but isn't it equally lazy and stupid to not check and make sure the seat is down before you take a piss and if it's not down then do it yourself. In my opinion it's not a big deal but chicks just go off on that.
I haven't had to deal with it since earlier this year but I was just thinking of that. Am I off base?

    But...WHY? They aren't kids, they're adults too.

its so difficult not to argue on that.

sure, take your chance and aim accurately into the toilet.... be warned, if you get any on the seat, your woman will not be pleased

I dont think he is talking about peeing with the seat down...he is saying that women make a big deal of the seat being up. Usually, women expect the seat to be down when they enter the bathroom, but it isnt that difficult to put it down themselves.

I agree. I was thinking that in my experience, I'd piss anywhere. But with females, they tend to P only in female bathrooms where the toilet seat would be down anyways. So we're using to our toilet at home, public, hotel, whatever. But they are way more likely to be in a seat-down toilet.

I don't know if that was clear. But I get you dude. If you put it up when you piss and back down when you finish, that it 2 actions (up then down). But if you put it up when you piss and she puts it down when she needs it, then you're each doing one thing. That's way too much analysis for a toilet seat, but this is what it's come to these days.

    I'm with you man.

Don't take that "It looks better with the seat down" crap. It's a toilet, for chrissakes. Sure, maybe it looks better with the lid down, but that's not the point here. Besides, I'm not the type of person who makes his bed every morning and unmakes it every night - it's just wasted effort.

It's also ludicrous to say "I fell in the toilet because you left the seat up." What the hell? You don't check something before you put your bare ass on it? That sounds like some deep-rooted hoe tendencies to me. How about "I pissed all over the toilet because you left the seat down"?

But you have to respect the home-toilet advantage either way. If it's your house, it's up. If it's her house, it's down. If you live together, she should only be worried about the toilet when she's cleaning it anyway. Unless she wears the pants in the family - then you can take it out on your marriage counselor.

There was a Martin (Lawrence) episode about this:

Martin to Gina: Look before you sit! LOOK BEFORE YOU SIT!

Gina to Martin: FLIP BEFORE YOU ZIP!!! FLIP BEFORE YOU ZIP!!!

    Martin to Gina: :( Ok.

I am firmly of the perspective of:

Lid should be down when it's not in use.

That doesn't just mean put the seat down, I want the whole thing down.

I have pets... I do not want those pets licking the water in my toilets and then snuggling up to me.

Problem solved. Just have both the male and female follow this rule and neither are being lazy.

I don't understand why anyone leaves the lid up on a toilet, nevermind the seat. Maybe this comes from living with pets, but when the lid is left up, it usually means dirty animal paw prints on the seat or in the bowl because they want to drink out of it.

Why not just close the whole thing every time? Even when I didn't have pets I did that. I know a bunch of you guys on here are germaphobes. Isn't that more sanitary anyway?

It is if you leave it up when you flush. Flushing with the cover and seat up is like a germ bomb.

No my brotha, I've been in the South too long and I believe my mama raised me right.

and Hayesfan and Jeff, I get what you mean about leaving the lid down when you have pets, that should be a given.

For the most part y'all get what I'm saying, I'm not stupid enough to bring it up and get into another argument w/ the woman about this but it just "grinds my gears".

Why don't all of you guys just piss sitting down on the toilet, like me? Then the toilet seat will be down all the time and no one will have to ***** or moan about it.

    ^Wow just wow.

Being the equal opportunity person I am, I leave it up. I have to pick it up, so I figure equal effort should be on her part to put it down.

Might have to piss on the seat a few times to make that compromise.

No offense but that has to be a man law violation somewhere.

I'm with you Ferrari, my sister always trips about the toilet seat and I still dont see what the big deal is.
