Gilbert Arenas fans, he is back. He stapled 29 pts and 9 dimes on the Mavs tonight. Just when I thought maybe the Mavs would pull another one of their late game home comebacks on a weaker team, Gilbert came through big. I don't know if he'll stay healthy all year, but if he does, I have no doubt Gilbert is back to being a superstar. Personally, I prefer the "hibatchi" Gilbert to the silent guy he's been since pre-season started, but oh well.

I want the Wizards to have a breakout season, but they have a long way to go. The Mavs shot the ball poorly, but it wasn't because of the Wizards' defense. They committed too many dumb fouls and were their own worst enemy too often. Fortunately, the Mavs weren't in sync and didn't have any pep the last few minutes of the game. It also helped that both Andre Blatche and Randy Foye played the best games I've ever seen they play.

This probably isn't worth starting a thread over, so forgive me.

I was watching him earlier and he does look back to elite form. I still have my doubts about his durability but provided he stays healthy the Wizards could be a serious threat out in the East this year. Especially once Jamison gets back and the additions of Foye/Miller will pay off as well.

I didn't know whether to go in this thread or the Washington Wiz 09 thread first.

Great news but let's not get too excited. It is only ONE GAME :)

But now I am only more curious about TMac's comeback.

Same here. Mcgrady is our only real hope for this season unless Morey can dump him asap for some real talent.

That's one thing. He can help us for sure, there is no question.

But it is just interesting. If Grover makes them both come back to AllStar level, it will be really amazing.

Hopefully Tmac would have to same success because we need him dearly. The Rockets tonight against Portland needed a Tmac caliber player badly. Patience is the key to everything right now.

It is too hard to get rid of McGrady and plus no team would give up talent for him because of his injuries. The only way we can get talent for him is if he show that he is himself again when he comes back. But why get rid of him if he comes back strong and play like the Tmac we all know and love.

Because the Tmac that we all know and love is the guy that can take over games with the best of them.

I always thought of gilbert as a clown or a joke with the way he acted and cried for attention, btu his new bball first persona is making me take interest, and i am glad i took the gamble on him in fantasy hoops

Gilbert never lost his game. His problem was being injured for virtually two seasons. In his cameo appearances during that period he still put up numbers.

The Wizards have the potential to be scary good.

They could easily challenge for 4th in the East.

Yep, in the Cavs series I think he put some pretty good numbers. Anyways, I'm happy that he's back. One of my favorite players in the league.

Amazing game by agent zero. Still one of my favorite players outside the Rockets.

In before the 'Lolz omgz hez comin back 2 elite status!'

I don't think it's unreasonable for him to return to form. If only the Wizards realized the importance of defense they would have been legitimate contenders at some point.

Yes. Hopefully, he can keep healthy this season. He is one of the most exciting players to watch. I like his game.
