how about trading our pick + KT for the second pick(presumably jason williams).

This gives us a natural point guard that can distribute the ball to our players. Then we can move francis to the SG and bring mobley off the bench for instant offense.

I know the chances of this happening are slim to none, but we need a real point guard..

    any suggestions?

    andre miller?

Isn't J-Will alot like Steve as a point guard, more a shooter in a PG's body?

how does someone who almost always looks to shoot first and has never played a minute of nba ball, become a better option at the 1 than steve?

You overrate Thomas. No sane team would trade down from #2 to #6 for him.

That is a true statement, but not because Kenny isn't valuable. It is because moving a few spots in the top 5 range usually costs a lot--just look at the Webber (#1 pick I think) for Penny (#4 overall pick I think) plus a couple of #1's trade a number of years ago.

Does anyone remember why Francis wanted out of Vancouver? He wanted to play PG, the Grizz were going to make him play Sg and he didnt like the idea. I know there were other reasons but i dont think will think to highly of us if we draft Williams. I mean we saw what Ricky Williams thought when the Saints drafted Duce McCallister. It will be like a slap in the face of Francis. We are set at Pg we dont need Williams. Hes been compared to Marbury. Can u imagine Marbury and Francis on the same team. That would be horrible. They both will want to shoot and lets not forget mobley. The person we need IS Q WOODS He will fit perfect with Houston. We need to do everything in our power to get him

From what I hear Jason Williams is a lot like Baron Davis in skill, except he wants more shots and he doesn't have near the defensive ability of Baron.

I'd rather have Baron for those reason. He gets teammates involved more and he's a very solid defensive player. A backcourt of Franchise and Willaims would get murdered defensively. I've read some posts by Dukie fans who said that if it weren't for Duhon taking on the opposing teams true PG type players then Williams would have been murdered on the defensive end.

Besides, we need a SF and C so if one of those 2 are available then why not fill that hole? If we get Jason Williams and he has that much value then trade down for a SF like Butler or Woods along with another guy to fill a role.

The only way I want the Rocks to draft Williams is if they have the next pick and Ming is gone. Take him and then field offers from teams that need him alot more than we do. Trading Williams down for a #7-10 and a solid vet does more good than Jason will for the Rocks.

PS - I hate small ball.
