Where is this deal? I looked on their site but do not see it. I have XM in my truck but I'm thinking of putting Sirius in my car so I have both. Anyone have a link where I can check out the details?
Its at the bottom right hand corner of the webpage. Right under the picture of the reciever. www.sirius.com
Thats to listen online. I want to see the details of getting a receiver and car/home kit for signing up for a year. Thanks though.
My bad, here it is: http://sirius.com/servlet/ContentSe...ntent&cid=1100707190293&source=263&occ=263001
Along with what Jeff said, you're also forgetting that people listening to Sirius and XM get a lot more than an MP3 player can provide.
If you subscribe, can you also listen online? or JUST listen online if you dont wanna get all the extra stuff?
Anybody else catch Stern on Letterman last night? Pretty funny stuff, he's convinced regular radio will go the way of the dinosaur in the next five years. All I have to say is good riddance. Anybody know when he'sgoing to debut on Sirius? Supposedly that first show he's just going to go on a diatribe and say all the things he's not been allowed to say.
maybe i'm a dinosaur, but i can't see that happening. i can't see public radio going away completely. or being entirely irrelevant. mostly, i can't see me paying money to listen to the radio.
Letterman posed the same problem: Why would the public pay for something it's gotten for free for so long? As Stern replied it's already happened....cable TV. When cable first came out people reacted just the same, why would we pay for TV when we get it for free? Well you know how that went. Can satellite radio succeed in the same way? I believe it can. Cable pushed the envelope with much more risque, intelligent, and subject specefic programming. I think satellite can do the same.
i hear ya philly. but cable was SOOOOOO amplified from regular TV. movies...much better picture...entirely new channels with programming completely unfound and with no other place to get them...pay per view events...exclusive type events. i listen to music on CD...i already possess a great deal of music i enjoy. i hear about new music through friends...the internet..and the radio. i'm just not sure there's the same upgrade from regular radio to pay radio as there is from regular tv to cable tv. i get the sirius channels on my dish network plan. i love them. i listen to them at home. but not sure i'd pay for it otherwise. definitely sure i wouldn't buy a receiver and then pay about $150/year for it. that's me, though...just my tastes.
