    Really interesting read. I see it applying to world leaders, but also sports teams, movie directors/actors.

    Think of the foreign policy teams under GHWB in the early 90's. Clearly WWII and Independence.

    Noonan is right, no geniuses in sight.

    Might have been fascinating, but I can only see a paragraph and a half. Anyway, sounds like your standard Great Man approach to historiography.
