idiom?LOL, that really had me cracking, there's your spanish talking man.For those of you who couldn't understand he was saying language.

Question for everyone here, boston has two picks,MAY need a PG but are waiting for the next L.Bird,do you see them taking gasol?you know they were close from entering the playoffs, they may not risk it and want to win right away.

Wow, his Euroleague stats are much more telling than those that I posted... only one more concern I have is his personal fouls. He plays at most like 30 something minutes, but he consistently get 5, 6, and 7 (?) fouls a game.

Is Gasol foul prone and, in your opinion, do you think that the Euroleagues are more physical or less physical than the NBA? Just trying to milk you of all information, boville, it is not often that we get to talk to someone with firsthand experience who sees the overseas players. Thanks.

I was a bit confused about the foul column too, but I figured that he fouls on average 2.0 per game, and is being fouled on average 4.8 per game. That gives a total differnt picture [IMG]

22.5 Rkg - this average I have no clue about - seems to be following his points but with some other stats calculated in as he had these pts/Rkg:
    23/21 - 12/12 - 21/28 - 13/22 - 24/34 - 18/18
but i have no clue what Rkg is [IMG]

    TO HEATH:

Rkg is a special ranking in euroleague for nominate bests players in competition.

    TO RUNNINRAVEN:
euroleague is less phisical i think than NBA, (except decissive games!! [IMG] )

about faults heath2000 explain it perfectly.

I´m going to the bed!!! tomorrow i must travel!!! [IMG]

Think I have the formula for the Rkg:

    Rkg=points+fgm-fga+ftm-fta+rebs+ast+stl-to+block-fouls+opp.fouls

btw the fg% over is only for 2fg as 3pt'ers is seperated from the fg stats.

    TO RUNNINRAVEN:

yes, of course, it´s the basical defense style here, this is an advantage for foreign players, (and for tall players like gasol too)

Today gasol will play, I hope post his stats in a few hours.
Sadly i must to Travel Madrid tomorrow, and i can´t reply your post in a few days, but not problem , i´ll be back quickly!!! [IMG]

    TO GATER:

    good point man

    TO ROCKETSFAN:

yes,i wish houston could be take a sooner pick than Boston. Rockets must try it

    TO ROCKETSFAN007:

yes, I think this guy is better than Nowitzki, but remember Dirk first year, (europeans needs minutes for a quickliy improve) , the advantage of Nowitzki is his weight, but Gasol is working about it.
he is a average rebounder, (better with more weight!!!), he is 20 years old, but is nicknamed "baby-face" too [IMG]
Never though in past Nowitki was a good pick in #9, and you look now who is Nowitzki (when the german played here wasn´t nothing special)

    TO MMANAL:
    you´re right,
a though: If gasol continues one more year here, and he can show his potential in Euroleague (this year he couldn´t play for a apendicitis surgery), he probably wll consider a top 5 pick, (this guy is a clear semi-steal)

    To CRISCOKID & MOONBUS:

this is hard but rockets can try it!

    TACOMA PARK LEGEND:
Í´m from Granada (andalucia) , but i´m traveling to Madrid many times, work & girlfriend obligations!! [IMG]

    TO ROCKET GUARD:

[IMG]

    TO LIVE:

hahaha , you are a lier but thx very much BTW

i hope help you to know better Gasol before draft, a pleasure.

    That´s all, see ya!

I was looking back at this old thread...major props to boville. He was right on all along in all of his posts about Gasol. When he first started posted about him, everyone was weary about taking him at 13, and now he has turned into an absolute stud. At the end everyone ended up knowing about him obviously as he went #3 overall, but just a few weeks before, it wasn't sure if he was going to be a lottery pick at all! What a steal he could have been for someone. I think the Rockets should appoint bovie as the official Rocket scout for Spain :D. He's already told me about a few other guys we should look out for, including Pau's 6'8, 16 year old brother Marc

Hola Boville! Saludos.

I´m new in BBS, i´m from Venezuela. I think this forum is great, just like the Rockets (even if they are not playing that well). I became a fan of the Rockets since Carl Herrera played there, and know I´m excited watching Oscar Torres playing.

Sorry for my English, it may not be really good.

    GO ROCKETS!!!
