What if KG waits another year and becomes a free agent. And then we could pick him up then. Rice will be off the books.
if he doesnt sign an extension to whatever team he might end up. then, we should go all the way and get him!
On the other hand, why doesnt this thread have 10 pages by now?? Its only about Kevin the Kid Garnet!
With all do respect, I think you are missing the point. Under normal circumstances, the deal I proposed involving Cat, EG, Rice, Cato ... would not return a top 5 player, Garnett. I believe Chicago is the front runner for his services.(family ties, Minnesota prefer a Eastern Conference trading partner...). But, and here is the key, if Garnett decides that Houston is his preference, Steve will not be part of the deal. I know it is a long shot. I am not saying the deal is going to happen. All I am saying is, if Garnett plays for the Rockets next year, Yao and Steve will be his teammates. He won't ask to be traded to the Rockets unless Rudy, Steve, and Yao are part of this franchise. I agree. If I was McHale and the Rockets wanted to acquire Garnett, I would ask for Steve and/or Yao for sure. I would give up Steve. I do believe that Garnett is and will be a better player than Yao, but I wouldn't trade Yao. But, that is not the point of this thread. (I know you guys might of made it the point.)
I would bellydance naked on Sixth Street if we got KG. But that's why I'm saying that...it ain't gonna happen.
Hmm...well you wish. I wish too. Mobley, Griffin, Rice, Cato, and 2...TWO DOS DEUX first round draft picks....PLUS MONEY to Minnesota for Kevin Garnett.
CD: "I offer you Mobley, Griffin, Rice, Cato, and 2...TWO DOS DEUX first round draft picks....PLUS MONEY to Minnesota for Kevin Garnett." McHale: "BWAHAHAHAHAHA!! Just because we did some illegal dealing with Joe Smith and completely raped our franchise for five consecutive years doesn't mean we're stupid enough to do that trade! BWAHAHAHAHA!"
Finals, if KG is gonna be on the block, wouldnt u think the Rocks would be in the running. I mean, simply, we have 2 stars on our team. We trade one(steve), + contract that ends next year(rice), and a decent role player(Mo)+potentional talent(Eddie)+ future pick. U see, most teams, if they trade their star to aquire KG, they wont have a solid team left after the trade. So why would KG go there?? I mean come on, after Chicago's proposal, they would have KG, Curry, Marshall, Crawford........After our trade, we would have Yao, KG, Cat and Posey The only reason to keep discussing this is cause we have 2 stars on our team, and both are damn popular
I know getting KG is nothing more than a pipe dream. But I can't help to imagine KG roaming free on the opposite box when Yao got doubled or tripled-team at the low box...wow~
HPSCC actually it was the real gm message board. I had typed minnesota timberwolves fan forum into google and then transvered to message board. They are talking over there like they wont be able to get anything (star) for Garnett and they should just let him walk. I think it would be www.realgm.com then just go to team message boards.
Well with Chicago only getting the 7th Pick in the Draft. They don't get LeBron, Carmelo or Milicic. So as of now, there is no way if Minnesota plans on dealing him that they would choose the rumored: Jay Williams Marcus Fizer Jalen Rose Tyson Chandler over: Steve Francis Cuttino Mobley Eddie Griffin Glen Rice or Kelvin Cato or MoTaylor And don't start the RealGM exact #'s bs. It COULD be made to work. Troy Hudson Moochie Norris James Posey Troy Hudson (Garnett)Nachbar Morris Posey (Rice) Garnett (MoTaylor) Yao!! (Cato) Collier And I'm sure with a Garnett/Yao frontcourt free agents would jump to take less to play with two incredible passing, unselfish big men. Our exception could be used to pick up a Jon Barry, Erik Piatkowski and then pick up a Damon Jones or another CBA type who can hit open shots when five people are trying to guard Garnett and Yao....... I can dream can't I????
the only bad thing about trading the whole or half of the roster is that they will have another reason of not making to the play-offs..
