When I posted nobody had suggested trading Francis! That makes a big difference! Then we would have our 'TWIN TOWERS BACK AGAIN' YES SANE, YES Sane, Yes Sane, Yes Sane !!!!!! . Then perhaps Brand might be tempted to want to be with such a team.
That sounds like a Deal!! Cat Griff Mo T Cato Rice Oh yeah Kevin did say Houston was the most trash talking team he has played agaisnt (FRANCIS/MOBLEY/POSEY) he said they were competetors and they play hard! so SLA theirs something he said!! He also said good things about Rudy T. during the USA games when Rudy was coach.
In my opinion, KG has all the talent in the world to be named the best basketball player of all time. So what is holding this guy back? Simply, this guy has got to be the most physically gifted basketball player of all time. You look at Garnett and you see a taller, stronger Jordan. You see a guy who, if possibly was born with Jordan's brain simply would not only dominate but would change the game of basketball. And that is my exact point, Garnett plays with heart but not with his head. He needs to develop a cognitive game and fine a way to harness his energy and be a more efficient player on the court. If he ever figures out that it's 5 on 5 not 5 on 1, I think you will see the player of the present and future. I know Duncan is the MVP and right now the most dominating player in the NBA but that should be Garnett. Even when Shaq is 100 percent healthy and playing his power game, Garnett should still be, talent alone, the better player. As for the Rockets and Garnett dream on...this guy if he ever figures it out will restructure his contract once it ends and sign for much less. The truth is, I will be surprised if Garnett ever wins a championship as the first option. So maybe he did make the right choice by signing the contract that changed the game. NBA is a political game as well an economic game. The NBA wants a player who is well spoken and intelligent to hide behind. If Garnett's team wins the championship what kind of image is that? Sure Garnett plays with heart but he is one of the worst spokes person/player in the game. Having listen to Garnett's interviews and quotes I have to wonder if David Stern and the NBA as a whole wants Garnett to be the first thing people think about when they talk about the NBA. Yeah I know, Garnett has street creds but that is only a small portion of the population who watches the NBA. Even Shaq for his stupid Aristotle quotes still was somewhat humorous and was considered a gentle giant plus he had Kobe, the next best thing to MJ, I guess :rolleyes . Trust me, they didn't win 3 championships alone, they got a little help from the refs.
Any player on the Rockets I would trade for KG. Even Yao, but I would only do him staight up. Here is what I would trade to Minny: Francis, Mobley, Taylor(or Cato), Rice, Morris for KG and Hudson. Then I would trade Griffin for SAR.
why do people continue to think you could land a top5 player like KG without including Yao or Francis, why bother, at least put down your crack pipe before visiting Realgm and then posting the tripe it spits out.
Steve Francis n Yao Ming will not be traded at all. Minesota should not be looking to get a franchise player back for KG because KG can just go off and sign with another team and leave Minesota assed out. So recieving Cat, Mo T, and moochie or whoever else woudn't be bad for them because they can end up getting nothing out KG.
the rockets have already decided that steve and yao will be the main men in the rockets lineup. they decided that those two guys will carry the rockets til they resign. those two are as untouchable as hakeem on his prime years. so, i would expect KG be playing with steve and yao if ever houston can work out a deal with minn. no doubt about it!
But Eddie Grffin is a potential superstar. And Mo Taylor is a starting caliber PF. And Moochie would fill their backup point guard role nicely. And Rice will make for good cap space. Open your eyes!!!
But Eddie Grffin is a potential superstar. And Mo Taylor is a starting caliber PF. And Moochie would fill their backup point guard role nicely. And Rice will make for good cap space. Open your eyes!!! no **** smeggysmeg needs to put down the crack pipe
Talk about a homer. Thats like trading 2 ford explorers eddie griffin and Mo tay and a ford escort Moochie Norris for a Stretch Navigator Kevin Garnett.
Have you read any of posts that refute your point? Here, I'll make it simple. Garnett decides where he is going to go because he is a free agent. The key to any deal, let me repeat that, the K E Y to this deal will be Rice's contract. Rice's contract can be used as a pawn to either acquire a young stud or allow the contract to expire and use the cap space to land free agents (if done right). Rice's contract = Free Agents or Third Party team (in January) looking to unload young talent (i.e. Rahim...) Cat- Scorer/ Great salary/ good defensive player Cato- big man that can be traded to a East Coast Contender EG- Potential, Potential, Potential/ Shot Blocker Mo Taylor- Power Forward/ Scorer/ Finally healthy Summary: Rahim, Cat, EG, Cato, MoTaylor That is as good as it gets for Minnesota. End Result. Minnesota retools without having to rebuild. Minnesota will not get equal return for Garnett. It is not possible!
******'You must be an Insider' because I havent heard any one from Rockets Management say any such thing! Infact Last season Francis and Yao Ming looked to me like they had the direction of the team mixed up! Possibly the way to firm up our direction is to trade Yao Ming or Steve Francis?
when and if KG decided he wasn't going to re-sign in Minny, next year anyway, don't you think some teams will offer some absolute quality to players to get him, certainly much better than MoT, Cato, Eggie, Cat and rice caproom. And if they really wanted caproom, wouldn't it just make sense for them to let him walk adn then also not have to take on ****ty players.
First off, all of these players are quality NBA players. Secondly, which quality free agents out there are going to choose Minnesota without Garnett? All of these players with the exception of EG will be used in later trades.
then KG doesn't have all the leverage with these midseason/offseason trades you're proposing. Minny doesn't have to take on bad contracts like Motay and Cato just to make KG happy. The best chance Houston would have at KG is a sign and trade when KG actually is a FA. But other teams would be able to come up with much better packages than Mobes/Griff, so no dice. It's a pipedream, nothing more.
Minny won't let KG walk, and KG won't leave Minny hanging. The only way this works is this offseason, while Garnett is frustrated. Of course, no Francis, no deal. Obviuosly, everyone would trade Francis for KG. Now let's ask this: Who'd trade Ming for Garnett? I'm not sure, but I think I would, especially if they took MoT off our hands. Cato Griffin KG Mobley Francis is just as good as Ming MoT Garnett Mobley Hudson Right? Either way, both teams are better than our current team. Garnett is WAY more proven than Yao, so that's the advantage. Of course, realistically, Ming will never be traded, Team Yao wouldn't allow it. Also, I don't think we'd ever part with Ming's marketability. We have better leverage now that KG is locked up. Why? because when he's an FA, anyone can have him. But when he's locked up for a year, no one can offer a better player in a trade than Francis.
