I got a Garmin, and the new map version 2008 i think, and it has so many restaurants in my local area (77077) that aren't there anymore. Is there a way to delete these listings from the software? How do I get these off? thanks.
I don't think you can manually do it. There's an update CD you can buy and install. Not sure if that would help with clearing all the restaurants.
I kinda feel bad for kids growing up today, who will never learn how to read a map when they start driving 5 years from now.
If you had the recent experience I had... you would buy a GPS too. We were in Chesapeake, VA (city of 200k people) and Im good with maps IMO, and I had one map of Virginia that showed only the few major highways there, and another one SO detailed, that it literally showed 1/8 square mile on each page. You would find yourself on the map, and 1/2 mile down the road would be on a page in the BACK of the book. Lost for 4 hrs in CHesapeake trying to find our way home to NC. Going back in January, and will be driving all over Virginia so I want to be secure.
My wife can't read a map to save her life. I can't do it while I'm driving. My GPS will add at least an extra happy year to our marriage.
agree that they won't know. But why does it matter? GPS will work. If it doesn't, cell will work as a backup. If not, someone else will have a laptop on a roaming network
I kinda feel bad for kids growing up today, who will never learn how to swinga buggy whip when they start driving 5 years from now. GPS rocks!
