This is one of the best games I've played in recent years and I have played many. Anyway, I have already beaten the game on Commander/Ironman difficulty so I figured I would test out some mods and try to go Legendary difficulty. So far, I have some of the long war mods that add extra classes and others that add more maps, cosmetics and such. I'm not a fan of the DLC, so I don't have those.

    Anyone have recommendations for mods?

I still need to play this game! I finished Xcom on Ironman and harder difficulty but still need to play 2... I haven't heard of much more than long war being great. I'll hopefully get to this one soon. Let me know if find any mods.

On a side note, did you ever play the original X-COM? I think it came out in 94 or so.. I still play that one every once in awhile... Haha, graphics obviously didn't hold up but the original strategy etc is a lot more involved than Xcom (at least from resource management/funds/research/base design). If you haven't you should get it, I think it's a few dollars on Steam.. Obviously graphics are terrible but the core mechanics are really impressive for a dos game.

I never played the original, I wasn't into strategy games as much at that time. I played mostly FPS games like Doom 2, or Wing Commander stuff, Privateer, Descent, etc.

As I've gotten older I lean more towards the strategy games and XCOM EU, XCOM 2 are probably two of my favorite games now. I hear the original was insanely difficult so I may have to try it out.

Yeah, Doom 2 was excellent, and of course Wing Commander!! X-COM is definitely a bit more difficult than the new XCOMs but if you like strategy and especially enjoyed playing on Ironman I think you can handle it for sure. I played the new one on Ironman to get a closer difficulty to the original, and while the original didn't have Ironman mode it definitely had a lot more going on to make up for that.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the new one and need to play 2 soon. I think nostalgia probably plays a bit into me going back to the original every once in awhile, but for a few dollars you should try it.

This game has great reviews on the switch it would probably take a couple of days to download from the nintendo servers.
