Has anyone heard of this or play? It's pretty cool still learning it myself. It's an "MMO" Game backed by Google Ingress is an augmented reality massively multiplayer online video game created by NianticLabs@Google, released for Android devices. The game has been called "a data gold mine" for Google. Players of the game belong to one of two factions, “Enlightened” (represented in green) and “Resistance” (blue). The game-play allows players to enclose regions of territory on the surface of the earth with virtual links between virtual portals, which are visible in the game software. The top-level goal of the game is for one’s faction to control large numbers of “Mind Units”, the estimated number of humans within the regions of territory controlled by the faction. www.ingress.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingress_(game) Trailer <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/92rYjlxqypM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I started playing last week on the enlightened side. Being used as a get out of the house and walk around parks motivator. Crazy addictive, our side has a strong community with everyone working together. Anyone else start this up yet?
A co-worker of mine told me about this today. Anyone else play? Can't decide which faction to choose. I like the idea of The Enlightened but my co-worker is Resistance.
My 20 year old son is addicted to this. He has been playing for a couple of years. He has wasted hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in gas driving around to different portals.
