Skies of Arcadia is a 'must play' if you have a Dreamcast or Game Cube. Eternal Darkness is another excellent game for the Cube.
Zelda - Ocarina of Time is also one of top three favorite games of all time. But that Windwaker crap is possibly the worst game in the history of video games. I mean WTF is that crap?!?!?! Has anyone played Midtown Madness on Xbox? I just started last week and it freakin addicting as hell.
You can't have played it with that attitude. You are probably pissed at the look of the game. I too was pissed when I saw the first screen shots. I'm still not big on the artistic direction they took the game, but the graphics, gameplay, and story line are still top notch.
I had it, but I sold that piece of crap. Games I am looking forward to: Mario Cart Mario 2 on Gamecube Halo2 Half Life Doom and Metal Gear. All those games are gonna kick ASS!
Wind Waker is solid, it is so much like Ocarina it isn't funny. Graphics never bother me for the most part, it's all about gameplay. I have no problem with the gamecube controller - in fact, I just discovered it works well with Soul Calibur 2, a game that will make me a little bit poorer at the end of this month. (Both SC2 and F-ZERO GX come out in the same week) And I played a demo of the new Rogue Squadron, Rebel Strike today. Just beautiful.
Wow. What an ignorant statement. Windwaker was one hell of a game, from visuals to sound to gameplay to story. Definitely one of the best games I've ever played (and I've played a lot of games). You sound like a typical "Gamecube is for kiddies" kind of person who will write off any game instantly unless you can decapitate monsters with a hacksaw. Gamecube is about gameplay, pure and simple. Pikmin may look cute and fuzzy, but the gameplay is awesome. Animal Crossing looks like pure kiddie-fare, but from what people say (and sadly, I haven't played it), it's highly, highly amusing and addictive. And lest we forget, Mario is also cutesy, but Mario Sunshine kicks major ass. To each their own, I guess... I'm surprised no one has mentioned Metroid Prime, which is reason enough to shell out moolah for a GC. It is simply THAT good. Can't wait for Mario Kart and Soul Calibur 2. I heard 1080 2 was disappointing, which is a bit disheartening to hear. Oh, well. I guess I can always break out SSX: Tricky...
Animal Crossing is like crack. I played that game for like three months straight. If you're looking for a game that will eat up your time, AC is definitely tops on the value list. I got Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime, Super Monkey Ball 2 and Tony Hawk 4 around the same time last year and I'd say without exaggeration that I've logged more hours playing Animal Crossing than all of the others combined.
Metroid Prime is amazing. Easily one of the best games I've ever played, and well worth all the reviews it got. Animal Crossing is like the Sims. Except that it doesnt' care for all that touchy-feely 'emotion' crap. It's all about the cold, hard cash. Er, bells. Whatever.
I love Mario Sunshine so I woud not exactly call me a Gamecube hater. My favorite system is N64, so that also shows that I could care less about branding a system. Windwaker might be good, but I just can't get passed that look. To me graphics are almost as important as gameplay. And apparently I am not the only one. They are changing from that crappy style for the new Zelda. By the way I can kick anyone's ass in Mario Kart. Anyone. Its not even funny how good I am at that game.
It didn't look that way because of bad graphics, the graphics were top notch. It was the way they decided to design the character, they went for a cartoon, cel shaded look and they did an excellent job. I swear, 5 minutes in, I didn't care about the look. 10 minutes in, I started to really like it.
Everyone thinks that. I'm confident I could take on pretty much anyone in the original SNES version. Donkey Kong is my main man.
I hated windwaker. The graphics were awesome, the story was mediocre. But it was too easy. The only hard part was sitting through the boring ass sailing. Hated animal crossing too. Just wasn't satisfying at all. Right now I just use my GC for PSO and Metroid Prime. But I can't wait for FF:CC and some of the future games coming out for it.
The only reason I would buy a gamecube is to play Zelda. Then I would probably sell it. I just don't think the graphics are too cool. I don't like the cartoon thing. My brother showed me what Link could of been like instead, as he appeared as a hidden character on Soul Caliber II. more:http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/action/soulcalibur2/screenindex.html That would of been much better. I would still give Windwalker a chance though.
AstroRocket and Fadeaway, I am willing to bet serious jack I can destroy both your asses. I know shortcuts that would leave you in the dust (not that I need em anyways). I have literally played that game every week since it came out like 7 years ago. Just as a test, how many shortcuts do you guys know in Wario Stadium?
Have! Not "of". Have! I never owned a N64 so I know jack squat about Wario Stadium or any other course in the lame N64 version. The SNES original is where it's at, baby.
LAME?!?!?! Dude you are talking about the single best 1 on 1 game ever made!!!! I've played the SNES and the N64 version and trust me when I say the N64 is about a centillion times better!
