Now it's time for Lidge to shut them down.

Their best relievers are all gone. I like our chances against who they have left in the pen.

I say bring in Lidge for three ininngs and if we can't score during that time or they beat us then hey the better team wins.

By the way, for those doubting Garner using Viz... he was pinch hitting for Everett, and Viz is our only shortstop other then Everett. He didn't want to waste another bat off the bench if it had to go to extras by replacing whoever pinch hit (Lamb or Palmy) with Viz on the defensive side of the inning.

Let's see a Taveras infield hit, and a Berkman HR to end the game.

He has however saved us many a game this post season with his defense (see game 4 of the NLCS for details).

Yea... that probably came into play... but remember, this is the AL... so extra inning games aren't the bench-depleting monsters that can happen in the NL if you pinch hit for the pitcher every time.

You aren't kidding about that. It's all about the W and after that top half of the 9th...I think we will get that in extras

Yeah I know... I'm just saying that pretty much everytime he's come up in the World Series -- it's seemed like he's messed up a bunt, struck out.

I'm just caught up in the emotions of the game.

okay the hitter's reaction on that fly ball had me thinking it was gone (looked like sosa bouncing out of the box or something).

Interesting, the first thing I thought of was how he won the WS with a single as a Yankee. ;) Go 'Stros!
