Those would be great, but how about some Rock Rushmore stuff? AC/DC, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, some more Who, etc.. What is the deal there? It's not like it can't be bought. I hear that stuff in commercials all the time.

I'd be all over some RHCP, Green Day, Foo Fighters, linkinpark, and System of a Down packs.

I can't post new threads yet, so I would like to do a brief thread hijack - sorry!!

My son wants a new guitar amp for his birthday. I have no idea which of the millions of amps out there would be decent for him. He plays bass guitar, does that make a difference in the amp I need to buy?

Can anyone recommmend an amp brand, minimun specs? My price range is in the $100 area, I am using Musician's Friend to shop and am feeling overwhelmed.

BTW, he is 14, so professional level is not needed. Just something that can produce a better sound than his very entry level amp.

    Thanks

For example, is this a good amp http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Raven-RG20-20W-1x12-Guitar-Combo-Amplifier?sku=481618?

So I see that they are selling the equipment separately now for Rock Band. I already have a guitar from guitar hero and I was thinking of buying the drums by itself to go with the drums. I really don't have too many people frequent the house so I have a question to all of you who already own Rock Band. Is it fun with just two people? One on the drums and one on the guitar?

It is absolutely fun with just two people. My buddy and I play together and it's way fun.

BTW, Sex Type Thing may be my new favorite song to play. It is hella awesome.

i heard the guitar from GH will not work with Rock Band, you'd have to buy a 3rd party guitar to work on both. Its probably worth just buying the whole thing, the Drum Set itself is like $80-90, then the game is $50, so your looking at $130 minimum and Target has it on sale for $150 this week.

The GH guitar does work with Rock Band but the Rock Band guitar does not work with GH.

For me it's easier to play RB on the RB guitar so that on the super fast solo's I can use the bottom frets. That's the only way I can get through Flirtin' with Disaster on Expert.

Well I already have a copy of Rock Band from another 'source' so really buying the whole thing isn't worth it for me. I was thinking getting the drums and then possibly getting the wireless guitar from gh3. Then I'll have the ability to have 3 people play on the extremely rare occasion that I have people over the house.

ok so this is a stupid question but something i noticed but couldnt find anything in the manual about it (or maybe I missed it)

what the heck or those small notes on the guitar part? you know they are about like half the size of a normal note? do you just need to hit that note but not strum or something? I always strum and hit the note for those but those things always confused me and my roommate

is there anything special about those notes?

You don't have to strum to hit them as long as you hit the note that preceeded it.

I would recommend getting a mic as well because that is one thing you can while you play drums or guitar, after you get good enough. You set the mic up somehow on a stand and play the notes and sing. If you have a drumset and someone over playing that, you just about have a full band, then.

You can use a head set plugged into a controller. The only down fall to singing and playing the drums or guitar is that some songs require the singer to press the "A" button in parts. I play The Kill by 30 Seconds to Mars and Enter Sandman by Metallica... I'll play the guitar on expert and sing on easy...since I'm terrible a singing... lol

I suck hardcore at singing so this will probably be the last thing I get. I don't know that I could even do the singing part on easy. I guess we will have to see on that one. I might have to try that alone with no one within a mile of hearing distance.
