you end up using all of those symbols and the star drawing after you get into the cellar. some things in the game can only be clicked on after you have clicked on others. maybe you just need to retrace your steps and try to click on every dead body, symbol, book, etc... finiding the little girl was the last step for me before the cellar door became "unlocked". i assumed that the girl appeared because i had clicked on everything i needed to. maybe you dont necesarily have to go in the same order i did.
Yes. I then farted around for a while and have not gotten that door to open. Maybe I'll try to restart it and maybe do it promptly this time. Is that the end of the game?
nope. there is still more to do once you get into the cellar. make sure you pay attention to those symbols and the numeric order on that star drawing .
I can't figure out the combo to the safe. I got the key. saw the corpse and symbol in the attic. read two books. saw Gwen. saw the star painting. saw the head and symbol in the microwave. Saw the symbol books (but don't know what to do with 'em). Also can't get in cellar don't know what to do next. -- droxford

You have to find 4 symbols before you can get into the cellar. The five symbols are: symbol on head in microwave symbol on floor in attic symbol on the desk by the arm (near the fingertips) in the library symbol in the safe That should get you into the cellar. I think you're missing the symbol at the fingertips of the arm in the library. -- droxford
When you get in the cellar door and chop down the wall and axe the guy running at you...how do you solve the five symbols puzzle? I recorded all of the symbols on the picture and tried to make sense of the clock symbols and looked at the book symbols, but have no clue of how to solve the puzzle. Help!
Okay, remember all that BS you read in the books about Vlaew? Well, one of those passages said, "Devoured the crimson life of five, marks of Vlaew given to thee. Mirrored below the soul survive, what was, what is and what will be." If you place a mirror below each symbol and look at their reflection, they look like the letters VLAEW. The star picture indicates which order to put them in. Specifically, the order is VELWA. -- droxford
