He's pretty good. I watch a lot of college baseball on ESPNU and he's their main color guy when they do games out on the west coast.
Mark Berman @MarkBermanFox26 Comcast SportsNet Chicago reports Astros long-time television analyst Jim Deshaies has interviewed to join the Chicago Cubs broadcast team.
No kidding. I would would be pissed if he ends up leaving. The story was always that JD had turned down a bunch of offers that had come his way, so why now? And for a job that isn't necessarily a move up?
I'm gonna be royally pissed if JD and Brownie aren't back next year. A lot about this organization has sucked over the last 5 years, but the annoucne team is the best. JD is very funny and knowledgeable. Not to mention they never come off as homers.
Mark Berman MarkBermanFox26 Jim Deshaies on interviewing 4 Cubs analyst job: "It's WGN, the Cubs. It's a big job. I wasn't looking. They called me. No offer made."
I don't blame him. JD is a gem... and if the Astros had more exposure, the rest of the nation would realize that. Hell, I'd rather him replace McCarver on the Fox national broadcast... he's that good.
