Is it just me, or were there many, many possessions where a shooter would get a shot up without even a hand in his face? I saw that on many occasions by TMac. That was one of the bigger things that really got me frustrated. How can you be up on somebody and not even contest their shot? What makes the difference between a TMac and a Kobe? Tenacity and the "never say die" attitude. We see flashes of it, but we never see it consistently enough for him to be a truly great player.
T mac never plays even defense. I always see him standing around in a half court set. Sometime he goes after players in a fast break but Half court set he looks lost and lazy. He needs to show up on offense too.
Honesty, I'm just tired of McGrady walking around on a play. At least make it look like you'll be involved. But his defense was great during the streak. It seems he brings it when it matters most. Let's hope game 1 was a wakeup call
Yeah I saw that play as well. It does seem like he tends to slack off on defense a sometimes. I don't know, I will withhold my judgment till our playoff run ends.
He does play defense, mostly help defense. He's pretty bad 1 on 1 these days. He constantly keeps his eyes on the ball... I've seen him stand there and as soon as a ball is thrown he jets to it for a fast break. He always seems to hover around the lane too, when another player who he is not guarding drives, he will clog the lane. He's good at team defense but bad at iso defense.
