HTC has the best phones ever. Motorola was on track to catch-up with them until they went and messed it all up with their locked down bootloader. Always by HTC. And then go to XDA to get it rooted. They are really good over there and each phone usually has its own webchat. I always go to the webchat and people help me root my phones.
Yup, XDA is an excellent community. All my roms, kernels, and mods are from there. You guys can hit me up on there username is Samsuck
XDa is the bomb. Finally flashed gingerbread to my phone instead of running it off a SD card on my HD2. Thanks to XDA my smartphone is actually a smartphone. WM 6.5 can suck it!
My fellow Fascinaters. I implore you to do as I did and exchange your phone for a Droid Incredible 2 or a Droid X 2. You can do this by complaining about the radio and the GPS, but mainly the radio. How your phone doesn't receive some calls, fails to send some texts, and won't lock in ever. It's a standard flaw with Verizon's radio firmware for the Fassy. They'll ship ye a replacement device.
Yup, and I can confirm if you bug enough, they might even be able to send you a Droid Charge. I personally recommend going with the Droid Incredible 2 (If you're going for a 3g device) Droid X2 has no custom roms or anything, Dinc2 already has a nice CM7 port for it. If you're looking for a 4g device, wait until August for the Bionic (pray its not a Motorola Photon for Verizon), or get a Droid Charge. As for the Fassy, if you're willing to stay on board, i highly recommend you check out r2doesINC's builds of OMGB or the latest CM7 port for it.
Called this morning and the rep did a full reset on my phone. Called back 2 minutes later and told the rep i had ED04 and she immediately offered the charge, inc 2, x2. Took the charge!
Good Job, when you get your Charge, let it update to EE4, and follow this guide to root Enjoy I highly recommend flashing Eclipse Rom, be sure to NOT flash a Gingerbread rom if you don't have the base yet http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122657
