You're roomate is a ****ing idiot who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a chicken.

Popeye's is not only cheaper and gives bigger portions, but has the spicy option which is nice. Plus, the skin's not all rubby like KFC.

Popeye's>KFC. And it's not even close.

    This.

However, there used to be this place in Houston on Hillcroft near South Main. It was run by Asians, and they sold fried rice, egg rolls, french fries, and fried chicken (maybe a few other things). Place was old, run down, and they had a big plexiglass barrier between the kitchen/serving counter and the guests........just a small windoow to pass through food and money. I always wondered if it was bullet proof. Once I was in there, and there was this black dude with a younger, spaced out looking white chick. He was yelling at her like she was his ho and he was some pimp. Honestly, they looked the part. I thought he was going to bust out and just whip her right there, but he kept the abuse verbal. I looked around and realized that perhaps I was a bit too whitebread to be in there. But damn that chicken was good. It was like Frenchy's if Frenchy's used much bigger pieces of chicken (and frying larger pieces is an art). I told my wife this story, and she said I wasn't allowed to go back there. Good times.

    Frenchy's beats them all.

But...from the ones on your list...Popeyes wins. I won't touch KFC or Church's.

The best restaurant fried chicken in Houston? Barbecue Inn

i haven't eaten fried chicken from popeyes, kfc, or anywhere in forever...but i'm shocked popeyes is the leader in fried chicken in front of kfc. doesn't kfc have some kind of steam fryer that always made their chicken extra juicy? popeyes just drops it in the fryer...don't they? is it all in the batter? don't make me do a taste test!

Popeyes over KFC 8 days out of the week. KFC's legs are the size of my thumb. GTFO with that.

if it's steamed, it's not fried chicken. actually, i know what you're talking about. seen the steam fryer on a cooking show. still, popeyes >>> KFC.
