I have a story to share, and I tell it with some trepidation as it is real... and oh yeah, this happened all of 45 minutes ago.

I'm sitting inside my house, the temperature set at a cool 73 °F, reading this very site when by attention is pulled away from the computer from a loud crash outside. It strikes me as odd, seeing how I'm on a pretty quiet, low traffic street on a Friday afternoon. Not more than 10 seconds later, another loud noise... only this time it's the sound of a gun shot.

At this point, I do the "normal white person thing"*, and go see what's happening. I see two cars, one a Cadillac, the other a Buick facing each other with pretty severe damage to the front ends of both cars. the driver of the Buick is attempting to pull away, and eventually does get away. the Cadillac is in hot pursuit. there are parts of each car laying strewn across the street, a headlight here and a piece of a bumper there. one of the cars (presumably the Buick) is leaking oil.

    Someone called 911

The boys in blue show up, maybe 5 minutes after the incident, and begin gathering information. As we are relaying the story to the officers, a young boy (I say young, it turns out today was his last day of high school) walks up. He is the victim, the driver of the Buick.

His story goes like this. He had put some high dollar rims on his vehicle, and there was word around school that people had taken note. He and his little sister were driving to his girlfriend's house from school, when he notices the Cadillac following close behind. He is followed for 3 to 4 miles from the school to this very neighborhood. When one pulls in to the neighborhood, they are greeted with a stop sign, and an option to turn left or right. I have provided a simple picture to show the layout, and where the incident occurred.

Having been made aware that someone could be after his rims, and noticing that he was being followed, the victim turned left, and the perpetrator turned right. At the middle street, the victim turned right and was cut off by the Cadillac. This is where he was rammed head on. The passenger in the Caddy got out, yelled at the Buick to get out. He then fired one shot at the Buick as the victim was backing up attempting to pull away. He did indeed get away for a brief moment, but was soon run down. He and his sister hopped out of the car and ran. The passenger in the Caddy then got in the Buick and escaped.

    The investigation continues.

Either your diagramming skills are horrible, or your street makes no sense.

I have seen so many neighborhoods in Katy or near Katy with this configuration for streets. It's usually the "rich" kids' place, and they know how to get around the streets. One of the parties didn't know this neighborhood as well as the Caddy, that's why they met head on.
The straight line on the bottom is a major street. The short street perpendicular to the long straight line is the entrance to the neighborhood. The street ends at a stop sign. Follow the Buick to the the left where it can only make a right at the left right-angled street. The Cadillac went to the right, where it then proceeded to make a left at the right-angled street and then another left to meet the Buick at the X.

The Buick that turned to the right knew there was "no way out but to meet him" either in the middle or last street, unless they u-turned on the left street.

The middle street was going to be the way out for the Buick, but met the Caddy straight on.

i blame MS paint for the poor drawing....

    a better diagram (maybe?) -

blue is the victim, and yellow is where the perp split off... the x is where it went down

^^^ It was easy to figure out. Too bad the guy drawing it did it incorrectly without showing North and made it seem like the street on which they crashed didn't continue behind the Caddy. ;)

So, what neighborhood is this, Alief or South Houston, and which one of those is your home?
