This Rockets team has freedom, but it comes at a steep price. Jack up a three, iso, stand around and watch, lose the ball and not run back, ball watch, dribble for 18 seconds without passing, stay away from your opponent when rebounding, switch on defense whenever you like. Must be great to be a Rocket player, all that freedom.
Oh yea, I would love to be a Rockets player. Be on a contender, good locker-room, and a coach who will give time to people deserving of time? You are right. Agreed.
Simple when Harden suck like this there is no chance. People blame coach but if last year Harden play just ok, Houston win the series.
Do you happen to watch the other teams offense when we''re playing? It's much the same. Iso, pnr, post up and then 1/5 half court sets. That strikes me as pretty similar to the Rockets. The Rockets difference is just in the threes. They'll pass up open mid range shots other teams might take. Not sure how that impacts overall offense. Seems like the right choice with this squad but who knows. Defense and rebounding are bigger issues. There were plays in the second half multiple times where a Blazer guard just blew past a defender. Got to fix that.
Underrated post right here. I just imagine Pop at the sight of Beverley bricking three after three while dribbling in one spot. He would have yanked him out of there. McHale lets guys like Ariza and Beverley play out of their capability too much. It is hard to watch.
Re-signing Mchale was a mistake they should of fire him last year and bring a real coach who can actually coach and turn things around.
Really stop knee jerking... We are one very good player from the championship game.... Superman. Everyone is basically healthy execpt for him. He will be back for the playoffs, then we win agains clippers and agains portland AND warriors. If the game is called right, Noone can guard dwight on the floor... See playoffs last year.
The turning things around phrase is usually reserved for loosing team. At 43 -21, I don't want a turnaround....I just want to see a healthy D12 on the court along with this team. I like our chances.
Freedom is the scheme. It's what Pop does, it's what Adelman has done, it's what Phil Jackson did, it's what McHale has been tasked with doing. I think it's a great philosophy when you have a veteran team. When you have leaders. When you have guys that can keep the team on task on both ends. We don't have that. I think we could use more discipline personally. It's just not going to happen with this regime. That isn't the strategy. At some point this team will learn and evolve on its own IF the core remains intact long enough. I do wish we had someone who would just put players in the right position from time to time. Make things easier. Especially on offense. A team clamps down and we're left staggering, searching for answers until we've lost a lead or are out of the game. Sometimes we need a hint. Ways to counter.
