I'm not sure what side of the fence you're on with that comment, but the particular regulation in question wasn't there to keep kids from having an easier time buying wine. It was in place to protect the interests of the big-business wholesalers--much in the same way that many of our laws and regulations are inspired. If ridiculous rules like that are too politcally charged to be changed by the electorate, then suing is often the only way to get something as asinine as this changed. Of course, TABC will come up with a way to "tax" out of state retailers in such a manner that will make them less competitive against the in-state wholesalers.
