Even when they do, something tells me the “Jalen Green, not going to play anytime soon” thread still won’t die
I suspect it will come after a trade. Giving Green minutes means less for Brooks, Augustine, Gordon, Matthews or any combination of them. Less minutes will typically bring down their stats and value. Once one is gone I assume Green comes back. I know we can't trade Matthews, but Augustine and Gordon are good enough to play minutes on a championship team. I think they are both gone by the deadline. Maybe with all this smoke one of Gordon or Augustine will be gone soon. I hate to sacrifice all of Green's rookie season due to lack of minutes. I actually think that is what they were trying to do by giving House minutes, but he destroyed any potential trade value, despite being on a very low contract.
I believe Green will play better after his time off due to the injury. Christopher is playing well and confident and he should start tomorrow with Green.
My guess is that he had been maxing out in his workouts. Threw off his game. Going heavy weights on less reps to build bulk over lighter weights many reps & build definition. His legs are having a tough time handling that and he needs to stretch more than he normally would. He probably started maxing in the summer. Trade Eric Gordon soon, open space provided by Mathews, Brooks and Wood. He is going to be alright. May surpass all others in Jan, Feb, March, April for ROTY. Needs to start shooting 36% from 3 at least.
I like that pairing and although it been s limited sampling of games, it appears to me that KPJ and Green lack chemistry. Maybe that will change with due time. Christopher has a really good feel for the game and doesn’t try to do too much. This should be an interesting combo and might be fun to watch.
