"The Little Dribbler" had some good moments for the Rockets, it is true. If JVG could teach him to penetrate with passing rather than dribbling into a crowd, he could give us some quality back-up minutes.

Jason Williams - the one from Memphis - is the right man for us. He is a creative passer. I'm sure that if he is onboard our usual problems of getting the ball to Yao will be a thing of the past. With the proper coaching and playing in control, he could be second only to kidd and nash as far as passing ability goes.
It would seem that west is dying to get rid of him. Or at least is willing to listen to offers, according to the front page of espn.com. We might as well sign and trade for him and Swift and then offer the MLE to Gerald Wallace. Now THAT would be an amazing offseason!
I'm really not trying to be difficult here, but what do we have for trade bait that the Grizz would want? Just expiring contracts? I doubt that. Set up a plausible scenario for which they would bite, and I will jump and shout for a Swift/J-Will trade. As far as using the MLE now freed up under a trade for Swift/J-Will, I believe we would need a better SF option that G. Wallace. He can jump through the roof but he can't shoot worth a hoot. Kedrick Brown would be just as athletic, far less expensive but just as ineffectual.
I don't know if they wouldn't. West is trying to shed salary, and Jason is locked up for a couple more years, at least. I'll pass on the scenario. There are far more capable people around here that seem to come up with crazy 3 way deals for a living. But regarding Wallace, he is just 23 years old, stands at 6'7 and was 9th in steals per game, with just an average of 30 mins played. His FG% was .449 the past season. And he blocks shots too, 1.67 last year. Granted, his 3PT shot has to be worked on, as .240 won't suffice, but he seems like a nice addition to our young core. I tried a head-to-head comparison between him and Desmond Mason and was pleasanlty surprised to find this... Wallace: PPG 11.1 RPG 5.5 APG 2.0 SPG 1.67 BPG 1.30 FG% .449 FT% .661 3P% .274 MPG 30.7 Mason: PPG 17.2 RPG 3.9 APG 2.7 SPG .73 BPG .34 FG% .443 FT% .802 3P% .125 MPG 36.2 So I guess we will have to disagree on him being innefectual... far from that!
Okay, then we both can live with that. However, I forgot to suggest DerMarr Johnson as a viable SF candidate. I picked Kedrick because he was wildly athletic but had no basketball skills other than dunking.
Ok, let's see Dermarr then... PPG 7.1 RPG 2.1 APG 1.1 SPG .61 BPG .25 FG% .499 FT% .792 3P% .358 MPG 17.4 He may play fewer minutes, but he is nowhere near the defensive presence that Wallace is. Of course he makes some of that up with his 3P shooting, but I'll still stick to Wallace. I'm sure he would have helped us a lot against Dallas.
