I know I'll be. I never really watched this show regularly, but I enjoy every ep I catch. Who else will be watching? Oh, please no "Frasier sucks" or "I hate that show" posts.
I watched Frasier for the first few years, but I haven't watched it in some time. But I'll probably catch the finale just because I did like the show at one point, and there's nothing else on, really.
What? I'm shocked. On a basketball BBS, people will be watching Frasier over Game 5 of Spurs v. Lakers??? And it's actually on at a REASONABLE hour... none of this 9:30pm tip off!
Wow, what an interesting way to end a series. SPOILER WARNING: Didn't I read somewhere that there are plans for a spinoff for resolution to the Chicago trip? That was crazy.
Good thinking AntiSonic -- S P O I L E R S P A C E I'm a Frasier die-hard. I've got almost every episode from the past five seasons on tape, and it's the only show I never miss. Thus, I was GLUED to the set for this one. The clip show was fantastic -- it hit a lot of great moments, although I was kind of hoping they would've thrown in something about Eddie, and something about all the other people at KACL (like Gil Chesterton, Bulldog, Kenny, and Noel). Either way, it was a very creative way to do a clip show, and tremendously enjoyable. The final episode was even better than the clip show. I wasn't huge on seeing Daphne's brothers, but they weren't too bothersome, and the plot certainly moved them along well. I did love getting one last dose of Kenny, Gil, and Noel (although I missed Bulldog), but it was especially surprising to see Bebe -- as evil as ever! It was a good way to begin and end the show -- with Frasier on the airplane. The goodbye with Charlotte was heartwarming, what with Frasier having had so many bad goodbyes, it was nice to see one that was so amicable, albeit difficult. I loved the whole wedding episode -- it would stand to reason that Niles and Frasier couldn't even pull off their very last event without things going wrong. Daphne having the baby in the Veternarian's office was unique (I'm surprised Niles lasted as long as he did), and I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw Roz getting the station manager job a mile away. Then the final -- when Frasier calls everyone to his apartment for the announcement, and they think he's dying. Typical Frasier -- everyone thinks one thing when the truth is something else entirely. I'm not terribly ashamed to say I got all teary-eyed at the end of the show, when everyone was saying their goodbyes. It's interesting -- I've been thinking lately about what some of my very favorite things in life are, and Frasier is definitely among the top. It's sad to think that these characters, about whom I've grown to care so much, are leaving -- no more new episodes -- but it was all wrapped up so well. Martin has gotten married and is now moving away, "on his own". Roz is moving up in the business, likely to stay her course of never finding the right man. Niles and Daphne are on their way with their own family. And Frasier is moving on. But just like Frasier (especially the season finales), there is a little twist. It's obvious after you've seen it, but it always blindsides you. He's not on a plane to his new job in San Francisco -- he's gone to Chicago, following Charlotte. I haven't seen many series finales -- probably 4 or 5, so I'm not tremendously well-qualified to judge, but I absolutely loved this episode, and figure it has to be among some of the very best. In ending one of the greatest comedies ever, the writers managed to wrap up many loose ends, and leave us with the impression that while we will probably never see the characters again, their lives continue.
Anti Sonic- Apparently NBC said no to the deal (about a spin off) but there is talk with the other networks. So who knows.
i love the show Frasier, But it isn't broadcasted in holland anymore. It used to be at 11 PM. i alsways watched the episodes. But i fear i wil not see alot of frasier anymore.
Hey, arno_ed... whatever happened to Johann Cruyff? I remember him a good while back from the World Cup. When was that? Whatever happened to him?
is this a serious question? sorry but for a dutch person it is hard to understand that there are people in the world who do not know what happened to him. 1974 Johan plays for the dutch national team. they lose in the final of the world cup in Germany to Germany ( ). a few days before the final there was a scandal where the german media wrote a story that the dutch squat had a party with a couple of naked woman. The wife of Johan cruyff wasn't entertained. So Johan didn't play for the dutch national team anymore (in 1978 the dutch team again lose in the final of the WC, this time they lose of Argentina). After that Johan cruyff played for a couple of team like Ajax and Barcelona. After his career he becomes a coach. he coaches barcelona. he wins alot of awards with Barcelona. but he gets into a fight with the chairman of Barce. so he is fired. After that he didn't want to coach the dutch national team. Now he has a son who also played for barca and the dutch national team, but Jordy ( his son) isn't near as good as Johan was. Johan is seen as the best dutch socer player ever. the only player ever to come close was Marco van Basten, but he has had a short career. is there any more you would like to know about him?
I didn't see the finale, and I didn't see many (2 or 3) Frasier eps while they were on, and I'm not proud of that. Well-written (from what I've seen in a few re-runs), brilliantly acted, very funny. But what gets to me is the end of the last link to 'Cheers.' Very sad in a way, reflecting back 12 years later on the last 'Cheers.' End of an era and all that. How many comedies will we see come down the pike that are as erudite and as put-together as this? These days, shows fail to hold their viewers in high-esteem, they don't give us much credit (and looking at the ratings and this post, they shouldn't) -- Frasier didn't make excuses for the great unwashed.
You forgot about his illustrious time in the North American Soccer League!!!!! Damn...we saw some of the greats. Even if they were a little long in the tooth.
