As much as I love Steve and would love to see him get some play time, IMO that's gonna be kinda hard with Rafer, Brooks and Head playing so well. I'd never what to see Steve in another jersey besides Rockets jersey. I'd like to see Steve stick around and wait for a chance to show he can still play this game, waiting for a opportunity to open a can of whoop a$$. But to bump one of the guys that are shooting well and running the offense well would be a mistake. James in my opinion doesn't fit this team anymore, so I'd say lose James (it's not that I don't like him, just a surplus at guard) and keep Rafer, Brooks, Head and Francis. IMO, on the trading block would be Hayes, James and Mcgrady.
I still think Francis has something to show to this team. Maybe I'm forever optimistic but remember last year's Bonzi? Eh, well Francis is something similiar! He's overweight, has problems with health, needs time to adapt but I THINK he is very supportive and helps the team. Which is important I think he realised that he is best in Houston and that's why we should give him a chance as soon as he is ready.
I know it has nothing to do with his knee but Steve Francis speaks after Knicks game. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/06/sports/basketball/knicks-RO.html?ref=basketball Steve Francis looks at the Knicks and sees the same problem that most people do — Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph are having trouble meshing. In his ill-fated season and a half with the Knicks, Francis had the same difficulty playing alongside Stephon Marbury. “It’s hard for them to play together, because both of them need the ball to be effective,” Francis said, “just like me and Steph. We both need the ball to be effective.” In both cases, the Knicks made the mistake of acquiring a talented player without regard for how he would fit in. Francis was traded to Portland last June, in the deal for Randolph. After having his contract bought out, Francis signed with the Rockets, his original N.B.A. team. Reflecting on his miserable Knicks career, Francis said, “I’m glad it went by fast.” The toughest part, he said, was “playing in that Garden, getting booed every day.” ... Quentin Richardson bruised his left thigh in the first quarter and did not return. ... Renaldo Balkman sat out his second straight game because of flu-like symptoms.
Yes, I am happy that he s going to be back, but the question is that is he going to play or he is going to be out of the rotation?
LOL dude just needs to get back to shape, work out his knee so it don't hurt. If it keeps being a gimpy knee, Francis will continue to be in and out with injuries just like Grant Hill. In fact, the Grant Hill/Francis analogy works pretty well here.
