Hey Yetti, If that's the case, why the hell did Steve step up and make sure we won the game we needed to get to the playoffs knowing Yao would get all of the credit anyway? I think it's pretty pathetic to blame Steve for every single thing that goes wrong with Yao. By the way, there are some things Yao can do that even an evil point guard can't stop him from doing - like rebound and block shots. Please give me your explanation of how Steve is making him average in these areas. I know you have one.
You're listening? Have you every listened? You come up with some bull crap regarding the clippers game. I shoot it down. You change the subject. Anyone who has read the rest of this thread see you do this to every valid post. How many times has that happened before? You're the type of guy, where, if this were a Jesus forum, would start thread about how he really was an "average" savior and needed lots of help to get anything done in the first place.
So now rebounding and blocking shots make you a THUG? And I'm assuming by the tone of your response that you consider Hakeem and Shaq THUGS.
Yeah... it wasn't really funny the first time either. I don't know if I've ever read any Nomar posts that wasn't trying to be smart as-. I mean I doubt he thinks Yao is bad, or that we shouldn't build around him. He's arguing for the sake of being argumentative. I used to be annoyed a lot... but you know what? I've gotten over it and whenever he comes up with a point I appreciate that. He's not the worst when there's guys like Juugie.
While MFW is working on that, how about you make a list of PGs, starters or backups, that have never blown right past Steve... So much for the athletecism advantage...
Yip, I noticed that you still didn't address any of the issues I asked you too. Possibly because there's nothing you can say. Well, if Yao played great defense because his man only scored 1 point agains the Clips then he REALLY sucked since Camby killed us against Denver and that was his man. Somehow I know, the Clippers game was great individual defense by Yao but the Denver game was poor team defense by Steve. I don't think any played "great interior defense, when you let the PF position go off for 36 and 16. So, okay, I've addressed the Clips. Can you address my question now please?
StupidMoniker... you came up with a great post earlier and he just changed the subject. Remember? There's no use. Eventually he goes back to "Yao gets tired," and "Yao gets blocked." Yao is clearly recognized by all media and all league people as a rising force in the league. Someone to build around. Remember the "I'd Take Yao over Shaq Now" article? When Yao gets voted All NBA second team. You can ask him "see? Can so many people in the league be wrong?" and he'll say "So? If Francis didn't have to crucify himself for Yao, he'd be first team all nba. Oh, and Yao gets tire. Oh and Yao gets blocked."
I'll do that as soon as I'm done with the lists of forwards and guards that have blocked Yao and the list of people that have dunked on him. Also, I never said Steve was a great defender or even a good defender. But everyone always talks about Yao's size advantage. AND Steve is just garbage, remember? He's supposed to suck. Yao is the chosen one that can do no wrong.
Francis has never and will never make an all nba team. I've seen lots of prelist out right now and Francis is no where to be found.
Yip, I've answered everyone of SM's posts. By the way, I'll just ignore that you compared Yao to Jesus in your earlier post.
Yao made it this year because the center position sucks right now. Ten years ago, he wouldn't sniff All-NBA either.
I would trade Yao for MJ or Bird in a second. Good exaggeration by you. Duncan too. KG as well. Even Shaq, if we had enough peices to win but we don't. Yao plays like a wuss with less balls than Tina Thompson. Besides KG, who has a double double every time? No balls. What about the OT portland win, the 3OT hawks win, or the three times when he stood up to Shaq? No balls. Okay. So he's not allowed to have slumps right? How about Steve Francis? Who is more consistent? Do you just tune out all the articles by experts that say Yao is an up and coming dominant force in a league? Or are they all wrong, and you are the only one that sees the light?
Dude. How many minutes has Steve Francis played in the NBA? How many minutes has Yao Ming played? How many shots has Francis taken? How many shots has Yao taken? How much have Francis's stats improved? How much have Yao's stats improved? How tall is Francis? How tall is Yao? How many times per 48 minutes does Francis command a double team? How many times per 48 minutes does Yao command a double team? Do I need to go on? If you think Francis has half the unexplored potential Yao has, I beg you to work your persuasive magic on some gullible GM.
Yeah if so then why are you so adamant about keeping him? Using this as an excuse to not defend him while you keep debasing Yao sure makes for good argument. Oh! And I compared Yao to Jesus did I? Does anyone else with above a sixth grade reading comprehension level get that comparison? So if I said that you are the guy on the PETA bbs that argues for hamburgers. Then I'm comparing Yao to hamburgers, implicitly? And if I said that you're the guy who just argues for the sake of arguing. Then I'm obviously using a simile where Yao is an argument right?
By the way, Juugie. If you can find ONE article by a respected news source or a respected commentator that says trade Yao and build around Steve is the best route for the Rockets. I stop arguing with you right away.
But...But...he's THE FRANCHISE and he's BACK!!! Who cares if most of the NBA and fans think he's not even in the top 6 guards in the league...he's got mad skillz!!!! We need to trade Yao and dedicate our team to "The FRANCHISE...Because he's BACK!!!" Steve needs to take 20 shots a game because we can't lose when he shoots 40%...err, actually he shoots 43% for his CAREER and that's all that matters...he's THE FRANCHISE AND HE'S BACK!!! Who cares about all the turnovers, Steve's heart is 10000000000000000 times more important than Yao's consistent shooting and rebounding!!! HE'S THE FRANCHISE and HE'S BACK!!! Sorry about the repeating spam, I've been hangin out in the chatroom during games too much.
Does the PG position suck today? If not, who's the elite PGs? If so. Either way that doesn't say much for SF's case. Yes, Andre Miller, Cassell, Bibby and Nash are better than SF. Please tell me they are not. And I'm talking about their game as "compete baskball players." Not athletic hops. Listen, you can compare Yao's weakness all you want. They still don't add up to Francis weaknesses. Not since Yao has time on his hands and Francis does not. It'd be a different story if Francis imroved every year. But he has not. Why can't you see this? Yao has time in his favor. Francis does not.
Yao is tied for 14th in league in double doubles with Kenny Thomas and Shawn Marion. So there are lots of people who have more double doubles than Yao Also, all those game you talk about, no one played physical with Yao. Shaq just played behind Yao for the first three game. The last game, he got physical with Yao from the opening tap and what happened? He damned near shut him out. I know that the NBA is a great hype machine. If you listen to the articles, it's a moot point anyway. It's going to be LeBron's league for the next 10 years. But what I want you to comment on is what I asked earlier...
