I didn't see this posted, so sorry if it's old news. Steve is supposed to be on Sam Malone & the Morning Show on 104 KRBE Wednesday. Enjoy!

He was on 104.9 during afternoon drive time yesterday. He called out Jeff Van Gundy and CD... and the DJs played a booing soundtrack while everyone laughed, including Stevie.

    Guess he's still bitter.

He said he feels Houston gave up 3 great players and only got 1 great player in return. He called the other guys scrubs (paraphrased) and said it wasn't a fair trade for Houston.

    Steve is delusional.

    However, I wish him well.

Well theres no question that Steve is a top fifteen player in the league, but in that trade we lost a good PG (if you want to call that his position), upgraded at SG, and got traded Cato for depth in Howard, Lue and Gaines.

I'm sure he is bitter, but he'll be happy in Orlando, and we as Rockets fans will be happy with T-Mac.

Perhaps a poor choice of words...

This was how the conversation went (paraphrased to the best of my memory)

DJ: "OK Steve, before you leave, you gotta do some shout outs. Who do you wanna shout out to?"

SF: "Yeah. I wanna holla at my boy Cuttino. And my boys (insert names of random friends here). And of course I gotta shout out to Jeff Van Gundy and CD..." then he started chuckling and the DJ started laughing like crazy...

Then the DJ says "Yeah you have love for those guys right?"

That's when he went into his spiel about 3 good players versus 1 good player in the trade and how Howard, Lue and Gaines were scrubs.

Then the DJ said, "so who do you want to shout out to again?"

SF: "Jeff Van Gundy and CD!"

that's when the DJ played the booing track in the background and they all had a hearty laugh.

Take it for what you will. It could have been in jest, it could have been a passive agressive move, or it could have been him showing he was bitter.

I actually am curious about what he said myself ... hopefully he slammed Gundy just like he's so fond of doing to his players.

I actually heard a little of the interview but I came in late so I can't confirm or deny what drapg wrote. But what actually gets to me the most is the whole reason he was in Houston on the air was to promote a charity event. And he actually talked about other charity he did a James Prince's boxing gym in fifth ward. But oh well, lets just bash him some more. Its more fun.

i was curious about what the guy said. he was among my favorite players ever here.

who are you, his brother? his dad? he's a public figure...if he goes on the radio and bashes rockets management, i'm curious. apparently that's not what happened, but that's how it appeared from the post.

do you have an agenda for all your posts, or just ones directed at me?

Francis was singing a different tune when he was on 610am last week. I think the "shout out" was more in jest, because he had said before that he likes CD very much.

As far as Francis being "delusional", he might be, but why should any of us expect him to say that it was a good trade by the Rockets?

Let's put it this way, if your girlfriend dumped you for another guy, will you ever admit (especially in a public forum) that the replacement guy was better than you? Can't relate to a boy/girl relationship, how about if it was a job? Will you ever say the person who replace your position is doing a better job than you ever did, even if it's true?

AB (this is not an attack on you, just as an example), if you had a gig and was replaced by another comedian, I doubt you would ever say "oh they made the right choice, he/she is funnier than me."?

I't about pride, it can sometimes push you to go the extra mile and sometimes it make you say stupid thing, but it's understandable.

Exactly, what is he supposed to say? "Cuttino and I sucked, thank God the Rockets traded us."

Good luck, Stevie -- remind us of what we had. TMc is the 1, but SF is still AOK in my book!

Great example. However, if I was scheduled to be at a club and the club cancelled me for Dave Chapelle but had enough respect for me to get me another gig paying the same, I'd have no problem with it. That's why if someone is better than me I don't trip because I know that WHEREVER I am I'm going to make the most of it. Not in spite of who they are, but because of who I am.

great response, p. of course, i've been very critical of biggio...but if you can overlook that fact, then you're right on target.

again...i just asked a question and you jumped through a thousand assumptions. i didn't realize the man was so sacrosanct that i couldn't ask what he said over public radio waves. i'll keep in mind his stature as the dalai lama next time i question him.

Your first response was that the best description you ever heard of Francis was that he was delusional. That's fairly harsh and unreasonable. Out of all the things you've heard about Francis, the best description is that he is delusional. That sounds like a person who needs to be committed.

Edit: To be honest, I understand where you are coming from. Francis does seem to over estimate his value, and he sometimes seem to genuinely not understand why Rocket fans are so dissappointed. But that doesn't define his character.

from a rockets' fan's perspective...i think it defines him quite well. apparently, i'm not alone...i wasn't the one who typed the word first.

    committed? yeah.

I think its Rockets fans who are delusional in their criticism and thoughts about what they weren't getting from Francis. Just like thinking he wasn't committed. How exacly is that?
