Wow, if you need the best player on a 22-38 team comments to get you motivated, you just prove Francis' point.

I was thinking the same the thing the whole damn game - that Spurs team is soft as Brie. No way in hell do they get past the 2nd round, if not the 1st.

*as always, IMHO - pls do your own due diligence!*

May be? At this time I'd like to get Jim Mora's opinion.

Jim: Contender? Contender!? I just hope this team can grow a heart.

Steve's right, the spurs are soft as cotton. :p

Francis may well be right, but I wish he hadn't said it. Ever since the draft fiasco people have been looking for ammunition to say he's a classless punk. He's giving it to them.

I just wish that Mobley had said it, just to hear The Cat's spin on it.

Well, it could be worse.....he could talk and act like Karl Malone.

Every player makes comments from time to time like this. But it is surprising to hear that from Francis after they lost. Seems a bit premature. The Spurs are soft, but they maybe the only team who can contain Shaq in a 7 games series. Thats a big maybe though.

Steve hasn't even been to the playoffs yet, what does he know about being a contender? At least do something with your own team before you start talking noise about other teams.

I think this is kind of funny actually. :D

I think he's right. Robinson will not be able to cover Shaq in hte playoffs. Dallas has the best chance to dethrone the Lakers.

As fof whether Steve has a right to say something like that, I'd have to say yes. He may not play for a contender, but he's played them before.

The Spurs were much better last year with D. Anderson on the team. I don't think they have the athletes like Sac and Dallas to compete for a title this year.

I don't see anything wrong with what he said.

    The Spurs aren't a contender.

Bucks are the only real challenge to the west.

    Rockets are a lottery team.

    la dee freakin da.

My take - shut up until you do something yourself. I think it makes the Rockets look bad to have a player who has played in a total of 0 playoffs games to go spouting his mouth off about a team that just beat him for the 14th time in the last 15 tries.

    Can you say sore loser?

Steve is right Spurs are not contenders...and what that does is just eats Duncan inside which will result in him going elsewhere:D

I say we trade Steve, Cuttino, Moochie, Rice, Taylor, and Collier for Tim Duncan right now.
