Is anybody watching right now? On episode 351, they just had one of the funniest moments I think I've ever seen on this show.

Ok, Bart's been eating vending machine snack food only and after a montage of him scarfing down junk food, they do a spoof of the opening sequence of the show.

Instead of "the Siiiimpsons" it goes "Three Weeks Laaaater" and then the theme song comes on and they zoom in to the window but instead the usual chalkboard writing, a hilariously pudgy Bart is buying some more snacks and then he waddles through the door when the bell rings. Tracking shot to the front of the school where he's supposed to fly out on his skate board. It takes longer then usual, finally Bart flies out, as soon as he hits the pavement, the ground beneath him cracks under his weight. Then as he skates through town, the lamp post he uses to make a sharp turn buckles under his weight . He knocks down and breaks things until he gets to the point where Marge and Maggie drive by but instead he rams into them and the car goes spinning out of control. Then when Homer's car parks infront of the garage, Bart is flying in on his skateboard, but instead of bouncing off, the car crumples under his weight. Finally, as the family all jumps onto the couch, Bart waddles in and collapses while having a heart attack.

If you are Simpson's fan who complains about the quality of the show, this is an ep you need to see. Download it if you missed it.

unfortunately, I only had it on in the background by then... the earlier episode tonight was so lame (IMO) that I had quit paying attention...

I agree, Ray Romano is freaking lame.

351 had Albert Brooks guest starring. He's always great on the Simpsons. Hank Scorpio, Jaques the French bowler, and Cowboy Bob.

Concerning the 350th episode... they list Stephen Hawkings as a guest voice... has that always been him or is that some sort of in-house gag? I mean do you really ahve a guest voice for a ...erm.. computerized voice like that?

Oh and I enjoyed the lil bit at the end of the credits going over the time that his show was on on CBS over and over again... made me chuckle for some reason... not really sure why... :)

I found both episodes to be pretty funny, but the best part was when Bart was on the skateboard.

I'm still laughing at that gag. I just picture chubby Bart and the whole sequence replays in my mind. I can't wait to download this ep when it's out.

Only caught the end of the first ep, but between Hawking/"and the show is on the radio?" and the second episode with Bart crushing Homer's car, that was the best 35 minutes of Simpsons I've seen in YEARS.

And, as we talked about last week, that Family Guy episode was as good as any in their prime. Quite a return.

My expectations were too high for the return of Family Guy, so I didn't find it that funny. I wouldn't call it bad, it was still good, just not great. I thought the best part of it was before the opening song when they mocked FOX and Peter named every canceled show FOX had run since Family Guy went off the air. Brilliant! The spoof of GI Joe was pretty funny.

The return of the prodigcal son..

    Family Guy was freekin sweet!

I loved the part where he was driving and wanted to read the archie comic then after they crashed he lifted the magazine again when Lois was talking. And the Brian & Stewie parenting skits were nice. I liked how Seth brought back a ton of memorable characters like the angry weatherman and the old pervert.

    :D

It was a welcome return thats for sure.

    American Dad not so much..

I totally agree. It was up to par, but nothing really impressed me or made me laugh that much. Same with the Simpsons. Maybe I'm just too cynical and need to go back and watch them again.

Fox's Animation Domination features most of my favorite shows, all in one lineup- which is hard because I think 90% of the stuff on TV is crap. King of the Hill, Malcolm in the Middle, The Simpsons, Family guy- all are excellent shows. American Dad sucks and should be canceled immediately.

    Simpsons:
I liked Ray Ramano's guest appearance, and loved the bit where Stephen Hawking explained why Bart couldnt see Homer. Ray Magini= imaginary, was very clever. I thought the funniest part of the ep came during the credits where Ray repeatedly kept telling Homer his show comes on CBS on Mondays at 9- that was hilarious. On the second Simpsons ep the Three weeks later opening sequence gag was a classic.

I liked how Family guy made fun of fox/Mel Gibson/ultra conservatives.

I look foward to seeing this lineup every Sunday, minus American Dad. They brought back Family guy, this lineup would be perfect if they brought back Futurama as well. BRING BACK FUTURAMA!

futurama is awesome. i think it's actually gotten to the point that i look forward to it more on adult swim than family guy.

so where is the best place to d/l these episodes? if it was actually a good simpson's ep then i'd like to see it. along with the new family guys i've mentioned.

Would be nice...but Futurama was just too expensive to make. But hell, reruns of Futurama would be 100x better than new episodes of American Dad... That show sucks bad. The mom, the fish and the alien probably some of the worst characters I've seen on tv and the daughter and son are completly forgettable.

http://www.torrentspy.com/ is a good source if you use torrents- they usually have the eps up right after its aired-- the newer the episode is, the faster your dl will be because more ppl are serving it. I agree with you about looking foward more to futurama than family guy on adult swim, and I think its because what a poster said earlier in a Family Guy thread-- Family Guy relies heavily on flashbacks and is packed with numerous quick gags, and doesnt really hold up as well as other shows during repeats.

I must be the odd one who'd rather watch the Family Guy repeats over the Futurama reruns.

Ummmm no. Family Guy is one of the funniest shows ever created and has a HUUUUGE following. Futurama cannot say the same. Which show had such great DVD sales and requests to bring it back that it resulted in it being uncancelled? Uh huh. Way more people like Family Guy; it's so much better. Alriiiiiiight

Sea Captain: "Yar, everyone likes a gumball machine, so why not gumbo machine?"

Bart: I've learned that even made up corporate schills can lie to you.

Homer[while holding up stuffed fox with Fox Network t-shirt]: Did you hear that Foxy the Fox Network Fox?

I downloaded this ep late last night and was watching it just now when I noticed an easter egg. When Bart is skating past Moe's and the electronic store during the opening sequence spoof that I mentioned earlier, Jaques the Bowler (played by Albert Brooks) is there and Bart runs over his foot, so he says "Hey, be careful!"

Pretty good Family Guy, but not great. The "Bed, Bath, and Beyond" joke made me laugh.
