I really want that cat, but I live in Chicago. Anyway you can do express airmail? I'm willing to put down a chunk of cash for it. Also, any chance you can put the cat on youtube?
There is probably a mother Siamese cat somewhere looking for its kitten. It is rare that cats will NOT come back to their own home. They will return because they know their way home, but won't return under other circumstances. Usually they'll jump on someone's truck bed and travel far distances and are lost. My almost-twenty-year-old Siamese was "found" by a lady a good three miles away from our home. The good thing is that we had a tag on him, and the lady nicely called us and let us know. It had been days after we had lost him, and we called everywhere. Fortunately, he was in good shape still, although he looked dehydrated and since he was old, we thought it was his end. He is still well and kicking and is good old man of the house. If I didn't already have another Siamese and a black cat, I'd take him off your hands, madam. Why can't you keep him for a while, or until someone puts up posters of him missing? I am sure they haven't done it yet because they think it might return to them... just like we did with ours. Everybody seems to forget xXShadyPinkXx has already posted photos of herself here. I do agree with everyone here that those are nice photos of the cat. EDIT: and peleincubus, I didn't know you were a girl, madam. My apologies if I ever called you SIR.
If you can't find anyone to take them and don't want to worry about places that euthanize, you might look into some of the fostering organizations (Homeless Pet Placement League http://hppl.org ... or Homeless & Orphaned Pet Endeavor http://www.homelesspets.net)
If the cat is female and declawed, I might be interested. I would not be surprised if the cat is "chipped".
That's a beautiful Siamese cat imo. I wonder what the cat's personality is like? I had a Siamese cat named Bernie growing up for my childhoood through my early teen years. I always looked at that cat as special and different from all the other cats out there. My most fond memories is Bernie would come up to me and start grooming me as if I belonged to him. I felt we had a special connection. The end pained me a great deal as I accidentally ran over him on the driveway when he got up and moved but moved back at the last second as I pulled the car into the garage. I still curse myself for pulling into the garage that day when I didn't have to. So, I had to watch Bernie try to walk it off, go into convulsions, die, and then bury my little friend behind the garage (not the best move as bugs were all over that grave in no time). At least she is still where she grew up...next to my snake and hamster. RIP. Bernie lived a long life, though. Sorry for exposing the painful side of my Siamese cat experience. Good luck to whomever lands this beautiful cat.
^ Dude. Get out and do things. Please don't take this the wrong way, because I know you just lost a good pal in your pet and I know you're grieving, but... man, your posts are difficult to read... get your mind preoccupied with something else before you lose it. Looks like you lost too many pets.
Not sure the time limit, but i got to believe this cat will get picked up...My mom had a siamese when i was in high school...mean little b#tch...she scratched the crap out of my leg... On a side note, I would have bet money I would have seen the cat kicking gif in this thread...CF always amazes me...
I just pulled the thing in last night and gave it some tuna and water. I had to put it back out cause I don't have any supplies. I will go and get a litter box today and see what happens. What else would I need? I know absolutely nothing about cats, because I don't like them very much. I'll attach some kitty p*rn and see if you guys can tell the sex. I really do like it, but I can't keep it because on top of the allergies and the puppy I already have, I'm never home. I have a sitter for my puppy, but she won't take a cat. I don't want to leave the poor thing alone all day, everyday. I haven't seen any posters around. Maybe I will put some up. I just don't want the cat here longer than a week or two maybe.
We have 2 cats and we are never home either (both work all day and go to the gym at night). Cats are very independent. Ours both stay home all day alone from 8am to 8pm. we feed them before work and when we get home at night. We've even left ours home alone for a weekend when we go out of town. Of course we have a friend come over and feed them when we're out and to make sure they're both alive. Cats are SO much easier than dogs, which is why i absolutely love them. outside of a bowl of water, a bowl of food, and a litter box (better hope that cat is trained!) - that should be all you need. maybe some toys on the ground to keep them occupied. we bought all sorts of fancy scratching posts and pads and toys for our cats at Petco... but the things they love to play with are our emtpy paper bags, pens, and pillows/blankets.
I think that by the size and shape of that dark area... and because the dark parts are hanging, even you could tell its gender. Because all they need to pee and poop is a litter box, you'll be set. My two cats take care of themselves and sometimes roam the neighborhood and the neighbors let us know they behave well.
Just please, for the love of all that is holy, don't let them piss on BBQ grills. We all know that is a natural tendency for a cat.
Never had a siamese cat, I guess? I had one. She was extremely noisy, meowing at pretty much everything... repeatedly when you pet her. Meowing for this, that, really everything. Meow meow meow. Meow meow meow. It can be really annoying when you're trying to sleep. That said, she was the most affectionate loving cat I've ever had in my entire life and I've had a lot of cats. Siamese are like that. Noisy but affectionate. Like someone said, they get really attached to their owners.
Leaving cats alone all day is usually perfectly fine... except for Siamese cats. They really need attention and it sounds like you can't give it enough. Siamese probably get snapped up quite quickly at the ASPCA so long as nothing's wrong with 'em, so that would probably be a good bet... so long as you can't find the original owner.
Funny, our family's siamese cat is quiet as a mouse and does not like receiving affection at all. Maybe because it's a seal-point siamese mix.
