Does anyone else out there feel like we should stop focusing all of our energies on the (very slim) chance we will get C-Webb? Methinks the Rockets would be better off resigning Shandon, Mo, Mooch, and getting a workhorse bigman (Marc Jackson, are you listening?) rather than WASTING all of our cap on one egg for our basket... ------------------
The last thing I expect CD to do is put all our eggs in one basket. I suspect he'll try to find some way to get CWebb and still hold on to at least Shandon and Mooch (Mo will be redundant if we get Webber, unless we also lose KT in a trade to acquire him). But I also suspect he's going to be looking at "fallback" options like the one you mentioned, just in case Webber goes somewhere else or stays in Sac. I think we actually have a pretty good chance at him (judging by his own statements and financial realities), but I think CD/Rocks staff will have a plan B, C, and so forth... Whatever happens, I'd just about guarantee you that we'll improve the roster over the offseason. Maybe not CWebb, but... Some big man will be added over the summer. A big one, considering the $ available. ------------------
