We're the 4th largest city in the United States, and the 11th largest market. Neither one of those are "small." What most people don't understand is the Rockets are more interested in resigning their own free agents than Chris Webber. It's not the Rockets inability to lure him here or the market size, ihmo. Webber's primary 4 options left-- Sacramento, Indiana, Detroit, and San Antonio-- are all small market, with the exception of Detroit who is probably a medium market. Players do want to come to Houston. A lot of player not with the Rockets have homes here. McDyess, Pippen (argh), Webber, etc. In the past the Rockets never had any cap room so nothing was serious. The Rockets have cap room now but there are no FAs to pursue. Webber is an option but not the right one for the Rockets IMO. He is a great player but is not a clutch player. He is better off in Indy (or Orlando) with clutch players like Miller and McGrady. ------------------
