He needs to start create NEW enemies in the NBA. Yep, that's what he needs. But instead from last year, i heard he sent out cards to the players he played with like O'neal and so forth, what is up with that?....that is too nice and is not the way to go. See, I say this before and I'll say it again, if anything prevent him from dominating the game is his culture that he has inherited, which is being too nice and too cooperative to people. But in America, players inherited competiveness and attitude and not so much team oriented n cooperative, more so like individual accomplishment. Yao is opposite, he's team oriented and worry about team accomplishment than individual accomplishment. And he doesn't have an ego and attitude about things. For him to be dominant, he needs to change his way of thinking and bring this attitude with him to the court which is hard and can take sometimes because of his culture.

Just imagine if you're an American white boy and you're the only one playing ball in China with all the Chinese there, would you be comfortable taking over the game or show a little respect to the people and culture that you never knew??? I don't know that's how i feel, but I think Yao is too respectful to the players on the court and by dominating, he probably feels like disrespecting them. DIdn't he say that he feels embarrass dunking over someone that is shorter than him before? That he rather do a layup? That's what i mean, he does not want to embarrass the players let alone the American players that he hardly knew (thus has nothing but respect for them). But how are you going to dominate if you don't want to embarrass them? you see what i mean? Now I don't want him to develope into an evil mean nasty person and start hating everyone in the NBA just so he has something to motivate and dominate, but that's what he needs to do: Change his attitude and about the way he thinks in general. It's not so much about "give me the damm ball," it's about "**** you O'neal, or **** you Divac, you piece of shyt, you're nothing to me." But of course as you can see, that's not a good attitude to have in a person in general, but to compete and dominate in competition and to survive, you need to bring this attitude.

I always thought these were good qualities to have. Having an attitude isn't a prerequisite for being dominant. Would you describe Duncan as having an attitude?

I love Yao, but the Rockets' success comes first. Frankly as long as the Rockets win, I couldn't care less if Yao averaged two points a game.

I agree. If the Rox win 60 games and Yao averages 2 points a game, it will have been a successful season.

I'm telling you guys....the only people to blame for this is china and their damn communist equal distribution mind-set they invoke in the people that live there:D

Yao needs to learn we live in a capatalist country in which the self is what everything revolves around:)

forget about china, yao! they brainwashed you!! :D

I agree that Yao will have to be dominant for us to win, but his sense of team play is a good thing, not a bad thing.

Yes, Yao needs to become dominant for the rockets to go far, but who said there's any need to become an ass before becoming dominant?

if he's actually blaming his problems on his culture, then he is a b****. this is his own problem. his passive attitude might be attributed to how he was raised by his parents, but it has absolutely nothing to do with culture.
