For those of you who weren't old enough to witness the greatest player of all time in any sport, here is a taste of what you missed:

I also think the NBA should retire the number 23. Nobody else, on any team should be able to wear that number.

I don't understand what's going on here. This thread is supposed to be about the greatest player of all-time but when I clicked the link it wasn't footage of Hakeem. What gives?

#2 is probably my most favorite basketball move / play of all time.

On the side note: IMO if you compile the Best of Kobe Bryant at the end of his career, his will come pretty close to Jordan's. Other than Kobe, Lebron James(although it's far too early to judge) might have the chance to achieve Jordan's greatness. (Only Kobe, and Lebron)

I think Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter had a shot at being Jordan II, but they just dont have the heart to do it.

they didnt have the desire and didnt put in the work. Michael just hated losing and did everything he could not to lose, i think these guys have gotten use to it.

I think they're too brittle to be a MJ type. They can never reach that mental level that MJ was in. Not even close.

I think Kobe is the closest thing we have to MJ. But MJ had the complete package. I think MJ and Bird are the 2 greatest players in the league. Those guys were at another level mentally. They'd beat you before the game even starts by messing with your head.
