    Agreed.

By the way, I know it's somewhat difficult to get highlightts of the goals from the tournament, but I did come across a blog that has all the goals from Euro2008, so here is the link:

Now, in honor of Holland mastering the art of the beautiful game, here are video clips of all five goals from their match with France:

    World Championships - Germany 3 - Holland 0
    European Championships - Germany 3 - Holland 1

Who cares about all those friendly matches above...

But again...much respect to Holland's current squad. We will see if they go down playing their beautiful soccer or if they can pull it off...

David Villa is having an awesome tournament so far. Spain is the side I am rooting for (mostly because Fernando Torres and Xabi Alonso play for Liverpool). With Greece's loss to the Russians today Spain needs only a draw to win Group D. I just hope Puyol is alright because that back line might be a little bit shaky without him, heck it was today especially Ramos. If things go to form could we see a Spain/Holland semi final?

Dang, I'm rooting for Spain for the exact same reason as you. Torres is a beast!

Btw what really happened to Puyol?? I wasn't paying attention and next thing I know the guy with the frizzy hair is walking off the field injured.

Good thing Ibrahimovic wasn't there for the second half.. or we could've seen a 2-2 result. From the looks of it, Spain is gonna be playing Romania in the quarters. Hahahahahahahahahah 5-0. You heard it first here.

I don't know, just not that impressed with Spain, even though they're winning.

"Spain's 2-1 victory over Sweden on Saturday at Euro 2008 may have come at a price, as Spanish officials confirmed Carlos Puyol hurt his foot in the game.

The Spanish team said the FC Barcelona central defender, who was substituted for Raul Albiol after 24 minutes, would undergo tests on Sunday to assess the severity of the injury."

can someone please tell me how in god's name Robben got that goal? the angle was virtually impossible with a defender right in his face and the goal-keeper closing the corner! best goal I've seen live in my whole life (after the Joe Cole one maybe and that Argentinian crazy goal from 06) ..

and that Spin move by Nistelrooy!! sick!

I've been a Netherlands fan since 2000.. it all started when my dad showed me some old soccer vids, and the Van Basten-Gullit duo captured my attention right away.. I was in love with the orange, Davis was my favorite player for a while, and then it peaked in the 06 world cup when stupid refs ho'd us against Portugal's sorry dirty keisters..

but my first reaction after the 06 exit was that this team is so talented, but so young at the same time.. it seems like they all matured now, with Nistelrooy providing vet leadership and Robben just being outta his mind, this is one hell of a team..

all I can say is: 2010 world champs..

If Holland can beat a team that spends most time destructing the rhythm of the game with counter attack here and there, I will be sold on Holland completely. Until then, Holland is the Czech Republic of 2004, and I will go out on a limb to say they will stop at the semi-final round.

There is a great atmosphere here in Holland, people are starting to believe, of course we have some doubters which believe holland got lucky. But most people really believe in this team. And there is a lot of orange on the streets.

We really have the feeling this year is special, the Players are really connecting with each other. and there really is chemistry in the team. :D

I was responding to the comment that holland didn't have succes against Germany recently. Which we did. However i have to agree that in hisotry Germany has been the team with more succes.

The biggest problem with holland over the years is that we play beautiful soccer, but we never win it. Lets hope this year will be different.

I'm also not that impressed by Spain, Russia played terrible, and they had some luck against Sweden. I'm not sure they will make it to the semi finals. I'm curious to see who will be second in our group. We will probably play a b team against Romania, but those people really have something to prove, so you never know what will happen. But if Romania makes it out of the group do not underestimate them. They are a pretty good team.

You are basically decribing Italy. At the beginning of the tournament i was most afraid of Italy, since they have a team that can really cause us problems. We played them brilliantly. I really have a good feeling, but you never know when Holland will be in trouble, they didn't get behind in any game, it is importent to see how the team reacts to that.

They dominated the first 15 minutes of yesterday's game, and then dozed the rest of the way until that amazing long pass to David Villa who put it in for the W in stoppage time. Their lack of size was apparent against Sweden and now with Puyol out their chances are somewhat diminished. However they have as much talent as anyone in the tournament and have the ability to beat anyone, but clearly Holland has to be the favorite along with perhaps Portugal (and I have a feeling those pesky, slow starting Italians could find a way to make some noise with the help of Holland mind you).

Italy of the past, yes, but this current Italy team defends terribly. Your early goal put them on their heels and they just lost it. Their back line without Cannavaro is just not that good. But I still won't write them off. I think they will pull an ugly win over France and should they make to the next round, I put my money on that they would make the final.

My main concern with Holland at this point is peaking too early in a tourney. Now everybody knows Holland's attacking is terrifying, in the next round, whoever the opponent might be, it will stay home most of the time, disrupting the rhythm of the game. 2006 Argentina, 2004 Czech also peaked early in the tourney. If Holland can win the quarter in an ugly fashion, I will put it to win it all.

They will not lose on purpuse, however they will play with different starting line up, I doubt van persie, Robben, sneijder will play. And the new starters will have something to prove. But remember we haven't been able to beat Romania in the qualification.

YallMean, I agree with you, i really hope we haven't peaked to early, but like I have said before, we really have the feeling we are watching something special. This could be our year.

What an insane game! Turkey down 2-0, comes back with 3 unanswered goals. And the goalkeeper getting ejected and a player having to become the keeper for stoppage time is ridiculous. I am so glad I sat down to watch this game. I was rooting for Turkey as the underdog and they pulled it off!
